Good video Ben! Getting that moped running is a really cool project. Once all that loose rust is out of the tank, you might want to seal it with some Por-15 or something similar for extra insurance.. looking forward to seeing it run!
Many times you can skip the toilet bowl cleaner and just use 50/50 water and vinegar with a drop of dish soap and a few dashes of table salt. It should start bubbling away the rust almost immediately and its safe to leave going for a day or so. Same formula works for brass fittings and hardware and can leave surfaces looking like they had been sand blasted with walnut shells and ready to take on a high polishing. Non-toxic and no hypo-chlorides to burn you so much safer too. You can then use the dirty solution as weed killer instead of a Glyphosate herbicide. On the POR products... They are not turning out to be as great as initially believed as contamination gets behind the coating and doesn't reveal itself until all is lost. Your better off getting one of the time proven tank liner products such as Caswell or KBS. Best!
