The talk around fuel cell vehicles has been here for a while now, yet in recent months it seems people are losing faith in the technology actually being implemented on a large scale. In this video, we cover why fuel cell vehicles are not catching on, and what could be the turning point for hydrogen in the near future.
Thank you for watching this video. This was the first video on my new channel, so I hoped you enjoyed it. I will try to upload weekly at least so if you want more automotive, energy and sustainability related content I'd really appreciate you subscribing.

I enjoyed the video, thanks for making it. Regarding H2 fueling cars I would like to see a more detailed analysis of the storage and safety issues. If liquid H2, or even cooled compressed H2 is used, then there will be an issue with heat transfer into the storage. Since a car will not have equipment able to refrigerate to the low temperatures required to liquify H2 it will need to be continuously bled to allow evaporative cooling and to maintain a relatively low storage pressure. A small liquid N2 bottle will empty itself in about 10 days. How do liquid H2 cars overcome this? Which leads on to the safety issue. H2 has the largest explosive range of any gas or vapour, 5% to 95% in air, and has an extremely low activation energy. What happens where there is a fuel leak in a confined space like a workshop or garage? My understanding is that there have already been several accidents with the limited existing infrastructure and uptake. I believe you can be correct that trucks and ships can move to H2, however, I cannot see a world where H2 will be used for cars. I believe that car manufacturers know this and are using the subject to slow down the uptake of BEVs.
