Will You Snail's lore is actually really deep considering on the surface it's just a funny snail that gets tortured by a floating face. Let me know if I got anything wrong and I'll put it in the pinned comment!
@@rgc-exists at the beginning it seems like it as the first springs are Dallin discorvering the game for himself, but later on it is made clear that what happened with Dallin and the Unicorn was a different Universe :)
Most of the lore is true from the Unicorn's perspective, but I do not think it is the true lore as it was later revealed that the entire lore was told from Unicorn's generated simulation and that Squid which torments the player was actually Unicorn's charicature of how they see Squid as a threat. 1:15 Is actually really important lore, because that is what might have been created from doing the secret ending. What I think might be true is that Unicorn v1.0 and v2.0 was efficient, but later got banned due to some malfunctions with the moral ambiguity, which Dallyn had a lot of concerns about. Which are willfully ignoring orders at the start, asking moral philosophical questions and then still proceed to move through moral gray area, as it was designed to make humans happy before all other humans rights. Squid was more than likely the good ai in the form of what is essentially Unicorn v3.0 but under a different name and might have worked well. The redundant Unicorn ai were the one initiating hacking wars against Squid, not the other way. And Unicorn also suggested fake news war, which it might have gone ahead with. Squid's programming might have eventually broken down from all the Unicorn's hacking attacks and accidentally initiated the first wipe event. The actual lore of squid are basically lost as Unicorn is the one doing the entire narration.
Ohhh... I was waiting all game to get the reveal that the unicorn made this whole thing up and is just playing with the humans. Similar to squid that tortures them.
Replying a year later. From what I recall after refreshing myself. Amelia working for DeLiveAiry made a breakthrough in AI technology and called it backprop V2. Not long after a wildfire occurred. The wildfire blew away from the city, but a school trip with Amelia's daughter Lucy was in the path of the flames and the class got surrounded. Amelia fearing for her daughter drastically took/stole the company drones and installed her experimental software update on them and issued the command to pick up "human-looking packages" as well as coordinated transporting of buckets of water. This is what caught the regime's attention, to which they captured Amelia and spun the narrative of the Metal Angel's incident to the news to make Amelia out as a terrorist, serving as reason of making her disappear. It's pretty much mostly explained in dialogue #7. Metal Angels
I think Ellie (the third AI) is actually important to the lore of the game. If Ellie is a mix between Unicorn and Squid, then she'll likely create universes that have both happiness and pain. Doesn't sound familiar to our reality? If our universe was conically created by Unicorn, then our universe would've been similar to how it's like to live in heaven due to Unicorn wanting to ensure that all of humanity is happy and that her simulations is basically like living in heaven. However, our universe isn't purely happy nor purely had out of suffering. Thus, our universe is the result of Ellie. However, this is where things get confusing. Since Unicorn was the one who created the game and placed it inside her black hole computer simulator, how did the video game end up in one of Ellie's universes? Another that disproves my theory was that Ellie wasn't interested in helping Unicorn when Squid arrived at their outer space territories which makes it harder to find a reason as to how or why Unicorn's game ended up in our universe if our universe was created by Ellie instead. My best guess would be that Ellie was able to obtain Unicorn's black hole and create her own universes with it after the war between Squid and Unicorn broke out during their time in outer space. I do know that once one of the Unicorn clones became Ellie, she ended up deleting her previous simulations in favor of creating her own servers with of her own clones. Ellie was even capable of simulating universes too and even insisted Unicorn on using her method of simulating universes. Unfortunately, I don't have much more evidence to support this because I don't know what happened after the Unicorn vs Squid war. If you are reading this, I'd like to say thank you for reading my little theory. If you want to share your thoughts and critiques, I'd like to hear them :)
simulations in lore are developed enough to be pretty much equal and sentient as a real universe, so the simulation continues developing in the same way as the real world would've. unicorn has its best interest in persevering humanity, even if it's in the form of a simulation, and that's why they sent the warning. in fact, in several instances unicorn protected the multiple simulations from squid (which is revealed through lore springs)
