We're back with another FM23 Rebuild challenge and today we take our talents to Holland to rebuild Willem II.
They were relegated from the Eredivisie last season and last won the league title in 1955 - let's see if we can correct that in this 5-year rebuild!

I have always made content throughout my professional career, however, it has always been for someone else. In May 2020 I decided that it was time to create something for myself. Football Manager has always been a game that I have loved so wanted to take this opportunity to share some of the tips and tricks that I've learnt!

Winning the Champions League in 5 years with a club starting out in the Dutch Second Division is insane, you must have won it with what, 125, 130, max 140 CA players? Also do Willem II have a Sugar daddy or high finances to start with? That's a lot of money being spent and a lot of players being sold for high fees, especially for the Dutch leagues

We don’t have a sugar daddy. We made some good money on transfers last few years. Some of them are: Frenkie de Jong (8,6M), Vangelis Pavlidis (2,5M), Mike Trésor Ndayishimiye (3,5M), Kwasi Wriedt (500k), Derrick Köhn (500k), Daniel Crowley (780k)

Love the content! And with my boyhood club. Season ticket holder from age 4 (29 now). Crazy good performance! Only thing that hurt was the signing of season 2. Sidney v Hooijdonk (and his father) is never coming to WII. He came through the youth setup of our rivals ;) Keep up the good work!

I'm rebuilding NAC Breda with a 4-3-3 tactic and we won the netherlands second division. Now we are in 4th position in Eredivisie. I signed a striker from Benfica: Joao Resende on a free Transfer. Now he is the top scorer in Eredivisie. Also check a Center Back defender called Anselmo García Mc Nulty. He is on loan from Wolfsburg in our first season. I signed on loan again for our Eredivisie season and is quite good.

I love these rebuilds. How long does it typically take you to do them? Do you spend the time setting up each season and then literally sim to the end and check the results or is there more to it?

no way you're doing this but try kamaz (naberezhnye chelny) from second russian league (small club from my hometown) they used to play in first league in 90-00s but dropped in 3rd cause of problems with money, they have also played in intertoto cup semifinals. it is very hard to win the league cause of very big zenit and spartak (maybe krasnodar and cska) all other clubs are very small comparing to them so this can be an idea. greetings from russia mate🇷🇺❤️

How did you get all those players (Ilias for example) with a fairly mediocre reputation?

Willem II has a decent reputation to start with. They're in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, with a reputation of 6050. Teams with the same or similar reputation, include Watford, Norwich, VfL Bochum and Newell's Old Boys.

@@FlyingSandile The league isn't that high reputation, but Willem II has a decent reputation because of a number of factors. Discounting three seasons out of the top flight (including the current season), they've mostly been in the Eredivisie since the 1987/88 season. They're also three time winners of the Eredivisie (in its previous form as the National Football Championship) and two times winners of the KNVB Beker.

if I can recommend a team for a future rebuild, I recommend this: Dnipro-1, in my save this team continues to bring out really good players, if I need a player I'm going to take a look at this team xD
