The very fact that he even built a windmill without anyone teaching him shows that he has creativity and some potential to make an important new invention.
Fantastic story!!! It's wonderful when people use their heads to figure things like this out! Reading made him smart!! Sort of like "give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." You're going to go places William!! Good for you!!!!
I appreciate that your video showed William's windmill, his home, his village and the junkyard where he got his materials. William himself narrated and explained his story and we got to see his home and his parents. This was a great resource for helping my students gain an understanding of his amazing story before we started reading his book, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind. Thank you!!
It's an injustice that Greta Thunberg is much more a household name than William Kamkwamba. Here's a soul that just doesn't hold others in contempt or point out the problems; he actually works to solve them. Mad respect for this young man.
Not all heros have to be bitten by insects, not all are rich tech.eccentric white males....some just builds windmills and speaks little English....deal with it...my hero.
