William Blake and Romanticism 

William Blake is often associated with Romanticism even though his work precedes the Lyrical Ballads. His strong emphasis on the creative power of the imagination is striking, but so too is his dependence on Locke's philosophy, whose tenets he does not like but seems to presuppose.
