The repercussions of K&W getting divorced would be so damaging to the institution that imho, Kate's using her continued limited participation in this royal show as leverage. She can play the 'C' card anytime there's something that she doesn't want to do. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Rather than take the money and run, imho, Kate is sacrificing her own happiness to position her children and to further torture William for his infidelity. Kate can blow up their happy family image in that 3 minute video, anytime she wants. But where would the monarchy be if she did that?
The Monarchy continued after Diana, and the third person in her marriage is now Queen. Kate is nowhere near as well known or loved as Diana was. She’d better not overplay her hand. The Monarchy is run by a bunch of hundred year old men in grey suits, and at a certain point, any handling of Kate and the Crown’s reputation would be out of William’s hands.
