RIP William, Robert & Joey you all paid the ultimate price in doing the Job you all loved to do you gave us some fantastic memories & moments, I thank you for that. My condolences to your Families & Friends.
Why does the mere mention of the name Dunlop screw me up so much? I don't ride, haven't since I was maybe 15 on crappy dirty bikes. I'm not a big racing fan...like at all. The documentary ROAD introduced me to this family, I watched it at least five times, and ever since I've felt some weird kinship with these people I have nothing in common with. I just learned of William's death five minutes ago...a year or more after it occurred....and I'm a wreck. If this world had more bona fide bad asses like the Dunlop boys, we'd be so much better off. My condolences to the family, and thank you for your sacrifices. Your losses have made this life a more respectable experience for the rest of us. I hope that weird thought can be received in the spirit in which it was intended. You'll see them all again. God's speed to Michael, and may God bless you all.
Remember marshalling picking William up when he crashed at the esses at Olivers Mount a few years ago on a borrowed 250 all he kept saying was is the bike ok. Will be sorely missed by many.Gone but never ever forgotten.
Of all the Dunlop family, I thought William could have been someone else than a rider.. I feel very sorry for him.. knowing he has two daughters.. one who was not yet born when he passed away... I feel very bad seeing all this.. why would you do all this.. its the spirit of a man.. its ahead of death.. god bless all of them..
