Here's a William Henry Knife that I hand engraved with some gold inlay on the beak of the birds using 24k gold wire about 0.5mm in diameter. Showing the steps from drawing design to finished engraving.
That technique of cutting your under cut area inside of your outlines is nice. I bet it makes it a ton easier to clean up , and preserves the original size of the drawing.
Thats truly awesome, congrats. Do you think that in the future this kind of job will disappear because of the the machines? Like Cad Cam ....? I really want to learn to hand engrave but I'm worried about the future of this job.
