Sadly parents do have lifetime responsibilities and ties to their children. How we interact with difficult children is very complicated but parents, biological and otherwise, have unique positions and experiences. Feelings are in many cases and especially with royalty and aristocracy are secondary. Here in America we have less generational prominence and power so family is more private, even with celebrity. Solutions to dysfunctional individuals need to become adapted to modern realities, especially when families are powerful on the world stage.

Lady C, I am an old Northamptonian. I and my ancestors lived right next to the Althorp estate, and my ancestors going back generations now reside in the local cemetaries. My great-grandmother was a housekeeper for Edmund Maurice Burke Roche, 4th Lord Fermoy, the maternal grandfather of Princess Diana. I can assure you that Althorp was ALWAYS pronounced All-Thorpe by all Northamptonians! The first time it was ever pronounced All-Throp was shortly after the death of the Princess, by her brother. All-Throp was the derogatory nickname given to the estate by the brother during his "sniff-sniff" days, and not the correct pronunciation.

From what I understand about child psychology, when a child reaches the “age of reason” 6-7 years, the memory is wiped of very early memories. As Charlotte grows up, if she ever has to be in a room with the stupid wife, she will be uncomfortable around her, but she won’t know why.✨✨
I think looking at Charlotte's face she would be very aware and even at three she will remember. I had cousins that did cruel things to me. You instinctively know there is an agenda and the brain of a child from Birth to seven years old is sharp as a razor and if the psychological injury runs deep you remember everything, ecstasy or pain hold sway. I watched a video of the recent State Banquet and saw that Sophie was seated next to the Emperor. Regarding Diana and Raine Spencer….Diana was 28 years old when she pushed her stepmother down the saloon stairs at Althorp, an extreme act of antisocial behavior so reprehensible that Diana could have been arrested and charged with domestic assault had she been a “lesser mortal.” This action alone, based on Diana’s sole perception that Raine wasn’t paying her own mother enough attention, would make me feel very strongly that she had deep psychological problems and possessed strong sociopathic tendencies. Diana was characterized by women who knew her as a girl as being unable to tell the truth about the most mundane activities, and that pathological lying continued to adulthood, when she also showed that she was a skilled manipulator of people, events, and the press. I could go on and on, but every time I hear about that horrific incident, I feel upset that her reputation as a veritable saint is still so strong….I prefer public figures who behave with integrity and true kindness.

I think for her married for connection to nobility and into High Society which may cause the resentments among Spencer children. Elder Spencer and Diana's bio mother fought lot in the marriage because both were heavy drinkers which that affected lot of psychology and mentally onto the Spencer children. Children learn from watching them while being the small children.
