William Shatner 1958 " Prote'ge' " 

Agnes Moorehead was superb in anything she ever did! Excellent acting by just about everybody. It's no wonder they called this era the "golden age" of television. Today in the 2020's television is beyond worthless!!!

Just remember, this is what TV was like for a long time. Acting, real people and the “scene” was both/all people, not back and forth headshots

No special effects, grainy black and white. Real acting, great story, blows the doors off of many CGI enhanced high rez million dollar action movies that have no substance. Hollywood cannot make movies like this today unless Shatner is acting in it.

Highly recommend this story...in the "All About Eve" genre. Agnes plays her role as only she could, the aging yet still the diva onstage. Never a dull moment in this episode..

This was amazing. I adore Agnes, the control she had of her voice is riveting. Everyone was so good in this play. I wonder who the handsome young man at 12:00 that got dumped is? Such a beautiful face. That scene was the first hint of Pam's true self serving cruelty.

With Hitch as Exec Prod, the Script of NYC Richard Berg, & our AllStar Cast faves Shattner, Klugman, & Moorehead...... we've got an original CLASS ACT! The real tragedy was not the wicked trickery of the common jealous Co-star; rather, it was The Star's timeless crash upon her submission to that First Sober Sip. Unfortunately, this is a reality straight from The New York Stage Door. Relentlessly, I was subjected to it, endured it, and survived it, for over three decades. It is, always, the envious talentless and Godless co-stars (and understudies) or a WannaBe Director who could OnlyBe wearing Kneepads, who get great entitled Actors like Sal Mineo (for example), killed. As this was written during the 50s, it is a bloody Sin to see that NOTHING has changed with these Broadway Bitches; and in fact, they are even MORE HELLified Today. From The Stage Door to The Door of Your Dressing Room, there are NO FRIENDS in The Business Of Show. As painful as this was to watch, I want to Thank You for offering this rare and incredible Teleplay Gem!

Somewhat ironic: here, Agnes Morehead smokes quite a bit but it's Jack Klugman (who isn't smoking here) who contracted throat cancer due to his smoking. EXCELLENT cast. OMG...that was some ending.

Outstanding acting... Agnes Moorehead was so divine. What a consummate actress! One of a kind. The nuances of her acting, the way she could convey all kinds of emotions with her face and voice.... simply amazing! Thank you for sharing this masterpiece.

The film quality is for 💩, but to WATCH AGNAS MOREHEAD act is still a thrill. Shatner’s not bad, slapping a young lady in face over a mini freak out…Lol….those were the good ol’ writing days. Hahaaaaa.
