@@betty-g4qsenility is not a myth. It’s just that some people are fortunate enough to age gracefully and gradually. My mom is only 70 and she can’t take care of herself anymore. It’s not fair. I’m glad that Mr. Shatner takes care of his health. He’s rich too, which probably helps to keep himself young.

My family went to Bloomington, Indiana and we were right by Indiana University! I had no idea William Shatner was there!! I've seen partial solar eclipses but never a total one in the path of totality! It was truly an amazing experience!! Day became night! And you could hear loud cheers coming from the students of the university! It was awesome!! Definitely worth the very long drive!!

It's true, it's overwhelming. I didn't have words for it. I'm in New Hampshire and we lucked out with so much sunshine. They let us out of work early, I was so excited for this and it was above and beyond even my wildest expectations (and I'm easily impressed, 56% totality in 2017 impressed me). Mostly I just stood there with my mouth hanging open in awe, even before totality, yelling at my younger brother to not look at the sun without his eclipse glasses the whole time, haha. And then once it hit totality I told him "okay, you can look" and there was a countdown before Bailey's beads so nobody got their eyeballs blasted. I actually drooled during the eclipse, and as gross as it was, I didn't care, I was too in the moment to worry about my appearance (a first for me). I felt so many emotions. It's wild, knowing how an eclipse work doesn't prepare you _at all_ for the huge rush of emotions you'll feel.

so well put - I did NOTpredict the intense rush of emotions that flooded thru me when I saw it. You really have to see it in person. Amazing experience

Spot on, Captain Kirk! Perhaps this world needs to somehow live in more "eclipse-mentality" rather than allowing life-on-earth to be eclipsed by so much tragedy. It's easy to forget the mysteriously beautiful majesty of our collective existence when we're bombarded with so much negativity. The Universe opened its arms to a captivated planet yesterday - across minds and media channels worldwide. Proof positive that we are, indeed, a species capable of joining in wonderment and stirring the soul when reminded of reasons to celebrate our very being💖
@GraniteStateVictoria
@GraniteStateVictoria 6 месяцев назад
Yep, I agree. I'm someone who always tries to focus on the positives while acknowledging the world does have negatives. I remember years ago when a tragedy happened in my town, national news sources were saying my idyllic little town was hit with "a dose of reality", I wrote them an e-mail saying that good things are just as real as bad things and (in polite terms) I told them to keep their big city cynicism out of my quaint little New Hampshire town and that a world where corruption, crime, and sin are "real" and family, friends, and community aren't is not a world I want to live in. They sent me an apology e-mail (probably a form letter, but I'd like to think a human read it and at least it gave them pause).

@@GraniteStateVictoria right on - maybe we can spread the inspiring side of this "eclipse vibe" virally 💫
@GraniteStateVictoria
@GraniteStateVictoria 6 месяцев назад
@@synchronistory Yes! I completely agree! I'd love to see positivity and kindness become commonplace. And real positivity, too, not the fake kind by influencers (where they preach positivity while only replying to negative comments and ignoring their fans, that kind of fakeness just irks me). People when they first meet me are surprised that I smile a lot and am so friendly. I love talking to people and getting to know them. I kind of look like a femme fatale (as you can see from my profile pic) so people are always glad when I'm friendly to them. I've heard before "Victoria, you're so much different than the first impression I got from you". I'm also extremely talkative. I'm known as the one who's always talking or laughing among my friends group and at work I'm known as the early riser who always has a smile on her face.

Been fortunate to have experienced 2 total solar eclipses in my lifetime. And also some partial eclipses. One of them that had the most impact on me, was a partial- I wasn't around mobs of people, it get didnt completely dark, but dim enough where I could see it's impact and Hear its impact on nature around me. A rather enchanting experience. But I wish I could have been there at Niagara falls this time. They expereinced a total eclipse under full cloud cover. It still got quite dark, but at the moment of the "diamond ring effect"- the clouds burst into fire! Most amazing thing to behold!

I'm older and have experienced a few solar eclipses, and so has Shatner, but they really are kind of fun. I wasn't in an area of totality. This time I looked down instead of up and saw the eclipse in the light among the shadows of leaves on the ground, and even in the light coming through holes in an awning overhead. I saw a dozen "eclipses" at a time instead of just one. As a kid I took a glance at one that wasn't 100% - it took decades for the imprint of that sun to leave my vision but it finally did, or my mind learned to look past it. I'm glad I finally looked down instead of up, or I'd have missed the great light show at my feet.

Bill isnt 93 he’s like 63. He’s aware he’s older and things work different now, but he’s taking care of himself and his family so that means the world to people that appreciate his hard work and dedication to his roles, that he’s sticking around and making the best of his life, staying busy etc. It’s great he still rides horses at 93 , and is so active in his community. Remember though he is a person that works to entertain, but he’s also more than a fictional character actor. He’s a human with feelings and emotions and resilience, strength and dedication. A family and privacy too.
