Addressing a problem with my 1970s Williams Space Mission (Space Odyssey) pinball machine where the game does not advance past the first ball, so it plays the same ball over and over. I show this is the result of a problem with the player stepper unit and in this series I show how to fix this by cleaning the stepper.

Thank you. I have Space Mission which has a slightly different stepper but had the same exact problem with the articulating arm being completely frozen. Solved now!

I have a problem with my machine where the 1000 relay (i guess) get's engaged and does not tally the score. Any 1000 point target, etc.....does not register. It releases when the power shuts off but the first time you score 1000.....it does not register. Any ideas?

Aaawww man you have a Space Odyssey. :( I have the Space Mission which is the 4 player one. Are the guts the same or different? My Space Mission has several problems one of them being the Outhole not kicking the ball out unless I hit one of the Advance Bonus roll overs or stand up targets.

Your wires look twisted together. Was that done for free play? How do you take it out of free play?

Is there an electronic board a person can buy to replace this with?

Yes, it's called a solid state pinball. The pin in the video is electro mechanical.
