One thing that pisses me off about Vlad is that he's always trying to throw in NWA in comparison to other people. The Geto Boys respected NWA, but they weren't trying to be NWA. They had their own sound. Just like in the interview with Scarface, he keeps bringing up Dr. Dre to Scarface. Scarface had his own beat makers that were dope and he in a nicer way basically tried to say "we got our beat makers, too". I hate the *forced* and persistent comparison he's always trying to put on rappers about his favorite rappers. The people he's interviewing are legends all on their own. No need to compare them to other legends... talk about the artist on hand instead of bringing out shit about artists you wanna talk abut, Vlad. Long time hip hop fan. Love both NWA and Geto Boys (solo joint and not GB but "Bushwick/aka Chuck/4 foot 8 and straight don't give a fuck" has been stuck in my head for like 20 years now). Never did I ever consider them to be in any type of competition. One was repping LA and doing their thing, the other Houston and doing theirs. Both at the highest of levels. I mean NWA beefed with 2 Live Crew (and some others) but there was never that type of shit with GB. I don't know. I'm not doing a good job of describing it. I guess it would be kinda like if Jordan and Barry Sanders beefed. Shit wouldn't make sense. They were both the best at what they did.

i had like an hour conversation with Bill. we was visiting a local producer here in dallas Quint Blakk (Quinton Banks) who produced for Too Short and did the track Call Me for Lil Kim and Too Short. at first he was on the couch leaned back smoking and when we got on a serious subject. he jumped up and joined in. dude kool. real. his son has some great music.
I grew up in the 80's and 90's in Cleveland Tx about 50 miles from Houston, and I listened to them(much to my parent's dismay of course) but watching these interviews is good, you can really see sides of them you didn't know were there. IMO NWA and The Geto Boys were 2 totally different entities . While both were doing that gangsta rap styles while NWA was doing street stories and yelling Fuck Tha Police Geto Boys were about survival ,Drug and gangster stories and with songs like Assassins , Mind Of A lunatic and Chuckie laid the foundation down for what would later be known as the Horrorcore genre . Bumped that Geto Boys album still to this day . A favourite along with We Can't Be Stopped and Til' Death Do Us Part . The album cover For We Can't Be Stopped is iconic imo . Pretty much sests the tone for the album in that by looking at the album cover and realizing that this is going to be some shit . Remember buying the cassette back in the day . Have it on cd as well . Have heard that Bushwick was on so much pain medicine that he doesn't even remember shooting the album cover . 1 of my favourite all time album covers in that it gets your attention and makes you wanna see wtf it was all about which was a classic album that i would put up against any hip hop record past or present . Mad respect to The Geto Boys .
Imagine if there was a N.W.A (Eazy E, Ice Cube, MC Ren, Dr. Dre, & The D.O.C) and The Geto Boys/GB (Scarface, Willie D, Bushwick Bill & Big Mike) collaboration album!!!! Only if 1) Eazy E did not pass away, 2)The D.O.C was never in that car accident that ruined his vocal cords, 3) Ice Cube & Dr Dre never left NWA, 4) Scarface & Big Mike did not have issues in GB, 5) Big Mike & J Prince did not have issues and Big Mike did not burn down a Rap-A-Lot studio- lol.
