My Texan father was born on April 6, 1933. He loved so many of Willie's songs, and would really enjoy this one. He passed away at age fifty-seven, and I often wish that he were here to celebrate not only his, but Willie's 91st birthday as well. This is a fun tribute to Texans everywhere.

Wilie, I'm gettin' tired of folks saying I look like you. My great uncle was a TX musician who had an old Gibson accoustic guitar that I was always told Willie gave him back in the 40's or 50's, it had an autographed picture inside of who I believe was Earnest Tubb and a rattle snake rattler with 13 rattles. He passed when I was 1 so I never got to hear the story first hand, but I learned to play on that old guitar. It was sold back in the early 00s by his wife and I hope it went to the right person. I wish I coulda held on to it.

I enjoyed reading of the rattle snake rattlers, and that you were blessed to have been able to play his guitar which had a link to Willie Nelson. I don't doubt that a bit, and I, too, know the sadness of giving up a beloved guitar. Thank you for sharing your memories with us all.
