They don't make them like Huell or Willie anymore.

I always love Huell’s enthusiasm.

I can not believe it. I thought I had seen them all, and this gem pops up on the interweb. And it's a true classic episode. This one left me with a good feeling.

Wow, in tears and what a treasure. I have some shoes I’ve been saving for many years and never knew where to take them in to get repaired. I might be too old now to wear them, but I still want them repaired. Thank you Willie and Huell for making a story about Willies shoe repair shoe.

This is one of my favorite episodes of Huell's. It's on my bucket list to have Raul fix a pair of shoes for me. Why? Just because. I'm an old guy now and I remember growing up in a time when there were shoe repair shops around. We had a super old one at the end of our block. I can still smell the leather and the polish of that cluttered store. Loved it! We used to have "taps" put on our shoes.

Miss you Huell Howser. Next month will mark 10 years since your passing. RIP

Huell made a million great shows, but this one is right at the top of the list. Fascinating to say the least. When I was a kid in the 50s we had an old shoe repair store at the end of our street. I remember the smell of it and the equipment they used seemed old even back then. Us guys used to get "taps" put on our shoes which bothered a lot of people.

Hands down, the worst commercial interaction of my entire life. AVIOD at any cost. Dropped off a pair of vintage shell shoes in April for a simple resole, Raul said it would take 2 months and charged me upfront (mistake). Considering how busy cobblers are, I called him 4 months later. This sparked off a series of bogus excuses on why the shoes were not ready, ending every call with “I’ll have them ready by next week”. It’s December and I have called Raul twice a week for the last 3 months and every single time it was one excuse after another. “The machine broke”, “I am organizing the shop”, “I confused your shoes with someone else's” preceded by “I promise I’ll have them ready next week”. To be clear, what annoys me is not the delay, it’s the lying. Today Raul confessed that he actually had lost one of my shoes and was just buying time to find it. I’ve asked for my money back and have gotten ghosted by him once more. I’m assuming this will be in vain and will go on for a long time - more excuses will surely come. I’m a very understanding and empathetic person, but this is crazy. The guy not only lost my irreplaceable shoes, but has made me waste countless hours calling him and even driving an hour each way to talk to him because he wouldn’t pick up his phone (more excuses, he left his phone in a cab, someone stole it, the battery won’t charge anymore…)
