I grew up hearing the wholesome songs from the Statler's and think this song is a great tribute to the guys. Young people today dont have a clue to what greatness is, and i'm sad they dont play their music more,or songs like this here. The generation gap grows wider every year
I just stumbled onto this video. My folks loved The Statler Brothers. I grew up singing all their songs and saw them in concert two times. I treasure a picture of my mother touching Don’s hand at the 4th of July Parade in the middle 1980’s. Mom was from the class of ‘57 too. God bless the music and memory of the great men who were these men’s fathers.
I saw Wilson Fairchild, along with Jimmie Fortune and the Malpass Brothers at a concert in PA last summer. Fantastic Show!!! Especially when Jimmie invited Wikson Fairchild on-stage during his set for a couple of Statler songs....OMG!!!
The Reid Cousins here. The one in the cowboy hat is Harold's son, but does sound like his Uncle Don though Harold's bass does appear. Nice tribute to the group that raised them.
How did I not know about the two Reid cousins?!?? I just happened upon them, and as soon as they each had a closeup I knew “Okay, he’s Donnie’s son. Oh yes! That’s Harold’s boy!” I’m so happy I found the Second Generation of the fabulous treasures that were the Statler Brothers.
Wil certainly has his daddy's eyes! I miss those guys so very much. What I wouldn't give to see them one more time. I hope Wilson Fairchild has as much success as their fathers, they certainly have the talent.
These guys are so good! They do sound like their dads in the best way possible. I hope they find success, look at all the people with amazing talent that struggled to make their own name due to famous parents. People assume they have privilege and not talent, and these guys are sheer talent.
I did lead vocals in a band for yrs and I spent a lot of time listening to the statler brothers music. I am 62 yrs old and I am still countin flowers on the wall. God bless you and your fathers
Omg....thank you!!! I love the Statler Brothers. My sister just told me to listen to you and you made my day! Maple Street memories is one of my all time favorites. Canada salutes the statler brothers ❤🎶🎶🎶🎶
I was lucky enough to have seen, and met the Statler Brothers way back in the day when Lew DeWitt was still singing Tenor, and playing Guitar for the Group, and I must say that these young Men are carrying on the great Harmonizing that their Dad's and Phil, and Lew, and of course Jimmy Fortune always had between them. And I must also say, that all through their 38 year long careers, there has never ever been any other Quartet in either Country, or Southern Gospel who has ever come even close to being as great at Harmonizing together as the Statlers, nor has there been any other Group to come along since their Retirement in 2002 that can harmonize in 4 part as good as they did. Wilson Fairchild comes in at a close 2nd, but if they could get Phil, and Jimmy to tour with them for even just a few shows, maybe, just maybe then, they might be able to pull off that 4 Part Statler Harmony Sound again, and how wonderful that would be.
We like to pick and sing and it's not a 9 to 5 it may not be a real job but it keeps our dreams alive. Sometimes we sang for many and sometimes it helps us too.in a way it doesn't matter it's what we love to do ...wil and Langdon reid
