Who's still listening in 2024? This song takes me back to childhood. One of my Popz favorites. My Popz is battling cancer. Had a mild heart attack a couple of days ago. Praying his strength. I know Jehovah Rapha can heal him. My Popz is a star! Love that guy ❤🙏🏼❤
This brought joy to my life by swinging out to it the early 80s in my hometown of Port Arthur, TX. The song also brought a tear to my eyes when I lost my grandmother during that same time. It comforted me and help me to deal with the lost of a great lady in my life. And as I write this now I have tears in my eyes again. What a wonderful song and what a wonderful thing you have done by loading this song on your profile. I could never tell you "Thank You" enough but here goes, THANK YOU.
I had the greatest of pleasure seeing Wilton playing with The Crusaders, at The Warehouse, in Derby, UK, i had just taken up doing photography and this was my very first gig, i got some great shots on film, and after the gig had finished, Joe Sample came up to me, and i thought that he was going tell me that i should,nt be taking any photos, but instead he gave me his business card, and ask me to send him some of the pics i had taken, and fortunately i think i done an ok job for my first time taking pics at a gig, and then i asked him if i could have their autographs, and to my surprise, he asked me and 4 of my friends back to their dressing room, me and my pals were on cloud nine. :) And all of The crusaders were dead chilled, we was with them for over an hour. One of my favourite memories. Oh to my surprise they used a few of my pics for some promotional stuff. :)
this song is song by a gentleman by the name Ronald Baker he was a native Cleveland-er. In 1978 he was in California singing with the Zola Taylor Platters. Ron passed away October 2012 he was a great vocalist who's life was cut short due to Renal Disease. Thanks to Wilton Felder for recording this brother for the world to hear. R.I.P Ronald P. Baker.
Also, check out David Sancious's album :Just As I Thought" which features Mr. Baker on a song called "Again". Beautiful song beautifully sung. he's listed as Kabil Gibran on that album.
This song introduced me to Jazz and more importantly introduced me to the brilliance of Winton Felder. One of the most prolific Jazz Sax player and vocalist of our times. R.I.P. Winton, your music and Jazz in general helped me become a grown ass woman!
Cool Ballad sung by an unsung but talented songster... The soprano saxophone solo is skillfully effected by the great Wilton Felder, saxist and bassist extraordinaire.
This song has been a masterpiece of mine since I heard it over the radio for the first time in 1987. I bought the album and cannot resist playing it over and over again.
Zakesq, it IS on CD. It's a two-fer: We All Have A Star and Inherit The Wind. Both Albums on One CD, and according to the write up it says that they were both Digitally Remastered. So, I'm going to order the CD.
I never get tired of hearing this track, and i met Wilton and the other Crusaders taking photos of them at the warehouse in Derby UK and they invited me and my friends backstage, and they used some of my pics somewhere, as i gave them full copyright and they were great people, sadly some of them have past, and ive been trying to find my negatives to print out again, but still looking.
This classic Wilton Felder album IS available on CD. 😁 I hunted it up and purchased it several years back. Don't remember from where but if you search the internet you'll be able to track it down. 🤙🏼
This is one of my 5 favorite songs, over the years I have played this song and read a reading called "Spectrum of Love" by Walter Rinder and together it is beautiful.
Hi zak . As a Glaswegian I am proud of the honour my great city bestowed on this graet man.Glasgow was chosen by Mandela for the presentations because it was the first city to make him a freeman, in 1981. The South African government at the time refused him permission to leave prison to accept the honour. And just to rub salt into the wounds of the then SA goverment the street their embassy was in was Renamed Nelson Mandela Place. Peace and Love .
