I took the opportunity to fly with my Friend Tony Hawkins. We flew a circumnavigation of Swindon and surrounding district approx 35 miles. Weather was a little rough with poor visibility at times. This was my 76th Flight.
I personally love all your videos Sandy . Informative and great entertainment , far better than some of the rubbish on national tv. Many thanks for the trouble you must go to, for people like myself who find them fascinating to watch.
Just remember Sandy . . Variety is the spice of life and no matter what you post I will always sit back and enjoy your videos like i have done over the years
Amazing video thank you and i enjoy both the flying and camping videos, actually came across your Chanel because of your 10 year Vostok review . Now i,m hooked. Take care and see you in the next one.
I really enjoy your paramotor videos. I much prefer seeing the cross-country flights you show to the aerobatics that are so often part of other paramotor videos.
The lack of visibility actually made this more interesting. But then again, I'm one of those odd types who likes driving and riding motorcycles in fog. Cheers Sandy.
It was an interesting flight for sure Mark. As we flew over higher ground we were forced to fly a lot lower in places pushing the limits of the air navigation order almost!!!
New to your channel Sandy, but loving the Paramotor videos , will have to catch-up with your camping vids - Great job, I have already subscribed! - cheers and stay safe
Great stuff Sandy! What an incredibly versatile guy you are! Wish I were more often in UK. Your neck of the woods is just bordering my old stamping grounds in Cheltenham. I know this area - but not as well as you! All the best & take care, Rob (Switzerland)
Well, of course I like the PPG stuff. I also enjoy the camping stuff as well. I'm sure many gaskets were blown seeing someone warming the paramotor without a prop. The myth is that it means certain death for the paramotor. It is indeed a myth. ~8^) Nice trip. Keep 'em coming Sandy!
Getting the flights and hours in now Tony. Conditions in the UK are becoming claggy and grey and Winter is on the way but still there will be some good flying conditions. Hope your keeping well and getting some nice weather. Sandy
Hi Wiltshire Man, I have just stumbled across your channel from another Paramotor page. I live in Harwell nr Didcot and I will be learning with Simon in the NY. Would love to fly with you from Challow (my GF is from Wantage) when I get my rating. Stay Safe !
A good and claggy little adventure! Here starts the season of overcast flights, calmer air, longer flying windows and more layers! Looking forward to a snow covered landscape flight.. 👍🏻
We're going to get more claggy days I'm sure but this will be my second winter flying paramotors and the air can be super calm. Just make sure you have a good flight suits and some heated gloves:)
Sandy,I once launched just as the winds shifted from SW to NW very light winds but the shear was really rough once I launched I had to land immediately and wait a bit for the air to settle NW. It was very rough in that convergence zone.Just a heads up if you see a change even in light wind always wait it out :)
Thanks Wiltshire man, nice video. As a fellow ppg pilot I would like to see the launch and landing bits, but nevertheless still very enjoyable. I fly with a uni 1.1 and moster and have similar logged flying hours to you, so I'm always eager to watch your next vid....keep em coming!
Hej Svensk! Mr Bumblebee is on the loose! In blue and yellow.Intresting way to fly i must say! Look forward to your camping, eny photo in the wildlife camera this summer? I shall put out mine on the feelds tomorrow. The grazssing cows went home yesterday on Frans day. St Francis day and all animals day ,good it was down and sniffing on the zero C sow it was time fore young cows with calf's in the belly! Have been the most un usual summer since wi bougth and came oute here 1999. Now the most wilde we have in the naberhood is the boar's those pigs is upp in the stone fence and shaving the moss away witch we don't like because of the long growing time of them!! Faire wind's in the blue (or grey)! BarbroSweden
Excellent flying Sandy. Great to see you flying in different weather conditions now that your confidence has grown & mastery of machine increased. I wonder do you use radio comms with Tony? ATB Andy
Just checking your reserve (I also fly with a reserve using the same Parajet pocket), the 2 ends of the yellow nylon cord should be tucked away in the triangle pockets provided on the top flap just next to the metal eyelets (where the elastic pulls through) and not left out loose...
THANKYOU THANKYOU I have just checked and your quite right. The reserve was not installed by me and was always left with the ends showing. Now they are tucked away properly....Many thanks for pointing this out to me Alan. Sandy
Sandy, we all bring something to the sport. I'll give you a research challenge, 2 questions. What type of vehicle is a Paramotor classed as in CAP 393 and as such are they exempt from flying in cloud. Just a tease. PM me for the answers.
Hi Sandy, As you know, I am a neighbour in Gorse Hill but lived in the States for a while and have many friends over there into Paramotoring. It's actually an offence in the States to fly through cloud. What are the regulations over here? Do you follow Tucker Gott?
800 acres... Lord help us Sandy , get camping and shooting permission on that , and you may just have 'unlocked' paradise there Sandy ... Fly Free and be joyous 'Iskander ' .
I'm one of the para-motor fans, hope to have a go myself one day, but I like the camping videos too. For cloud levels, I'd recommend a free app: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mytowntonight.aviationweather You just type in a nearby airport and it will give you cloud levels and all that useful aviation stuff, so you'd type EGDL for RAF Lyneham or EGVA for RAF Fairford.
Sandy I'm sure your paramotoring that you're experiencing is fantastic, however with this video given the !sketchy" weather conditions and the fact you were simply cruising around I found it a bit boring. I'm not for one minute suggesting you emulate the likes of the very experienced Tucker Gott and his crazy aerobatics, but some movement other than flying in straight lines would be more interesting, you even cut out the take off and landing which for most is the most interesting part of watching paramotoring.. Just saying. I have been a viewer of your channel for a number of years following your Ham Radio, Knife building, survival and camping videos and love all of them. Paramotoring not so much because I have been spoilt by Tucker. I wish you safe travels and safe flying and looking forward to you camping video. 73 dah dit dah
I'm not TG for sure, don't have the skills or ground crew to emulate him in the least so filming from the ground is not always possible unless I am just doing take off and landing practice. I'm happy to fly as I do at the moment, more advanced moves may come with time and experience but the objective of this flight was to fly around my local town. Sorry you found it boring, the main reason I make these videos is so I have something to look back on in the future. I have limited time, equipment and funds to make blockbusters. If someone enjoys my videos fine, if they don't thats fine too. It is what it is.
Thanks Sandy for the reply - I did watch it all through and being an honest person said it as it is I prefer your hobby/exploits :) I have followed you for sometime now and fully appreciate and understand why your doing and what you're doing and can only admire what you're doing.it. I'm slightly older than you and have had a wonderful life working overseas in many locations so having a Sedentary somewhat lifestyle now which is my up of tea. Take care Sandy 73
