Annoying, over-eager interviewer. Does not seem at all interested in what Wenders has to say

What's the point in interviewing someone if you already have the narrative you want before the interview has even started? Have a conversation. Listen. Be present. This is embarrassing journalism.

Love Wim Wenders. It's always unfortunate when a wonderful artist is interviewed by people who aren't good at it. Especially the ones that interrupt, assuming comments and opinions.

I dont like the interviewer "You dont like selfies righhhht? Cause selfies are bad righhhhht?"

I admire this mans work and character and agree with many of opinions. ( will also use his term Mr. 45 for that fellow *****)

A million miles doing roadshows. Setting alarm to catch those sunrises. Away from news, radio, late, and early light.

There should be some sort of "matching" between interviewed and interviewer, some "chemistry"...

So, I've always been fascinated by things like chemical photography, vinal sound recordings, etc. VHS gets a lot of hassle these days but it was a brilliant solution to the problem of storing video on magnetic tape. This guy is mistaken about digital cameras. You can keep your photos... they do, in fact, exist. Just as digital bits on a storage device. You can even print them out into hard copy if you want. Nothing's stopping you.

Wenders talking about "Europe" when he actually means the "European Union"

This "interviewer" belongs at BBC or CNN.

I don't know why these questions to a film director, it's all about the same ideas that must be promoted on mainstream media, they could have been asked to anyone with two ears and a mouth. We've had enough of this type of journalistic propaganda.

Great Artists can be forgiven their political naivete...pitifully immature......YET, we should all admire and exalt the Man's steadfast embracing of Christianity.

Terrible interviewer. he did not grasp an inch of this wonderful artist. But still Wim shown.

Looking back from 2023: The past six years have deconstructed so many of the gains made. Now we have the horror of Ukraine. I would be fascinated to hear what Wim Wenders makes of all that!

Unfortunately it has to be said open, people don't have enough work and money and that's what creates the problems, the rich getting richier the poor poorer and suddenly emigration is the cause of the mess that how people see it and politicians see this and to get to power is the easiest way to put petrol in to the fire, so I guess its the easiest way to get to nationalism

At the start I got the impression he was a little out of touch, but his politics are immaculate to me and he speaks so articulately about his views. Shame about the untalented interviewer.

Wim comes from Rhine valley which was a Roman province However, He forgets what Germans did to Britain in 2-nd WW Germans should be the last one to criticize Brexit also in view of the EU economic policy led by Merkel

I doubt this great artist actually knows that much about 45 . Perhaps he believes his contemporaries hate him so he joins as a virtue signal.

Episode 15 of how to turn an interview in to a Trump bashing. This week a chat with a German filmmaker.

Wenders, who is incomparable as a filmmaker to me, here is exposing he knows little about photography. For example, he assumes that the making virtual of appearance of personal experiences began with digital photography, and that analogue film is "actually sharing." Not only is a polaroid, for example, a virtual representation of what someone would have needed to be present to actually experience (and that people complained about in much the same way as Wim) but analogue photography isn't even the first example of this virtualization of experience. Even oral storytelling, to those who were not there to experience the events themselves, is a making virtual of that which was once not. Also, Wim specifically states that photography saved him from the fact he was a shitty painter. This betrays another huge misinterpretation on WIm's part but that has plagued photography since the technology was discovered. Namely, it betrays the assumption that photography ever aspired to be photography, which is the same as saying photography aspired always to what, until photography, it could not attain to. It belies a fundamental ignorance regarding not only what art is but that each medium of communication communicates fundamentally uniquely.
