I just received this projector 3 days ago. I originally ordered the P64 which I know is a superior projector and only cost $10 more than the P61 since it is on sale, but I intend to take it with me overseas and was concerned about it fitting into my carry-on, so regrettably, I returned it. When I turned on this projector, I had it casting an image of around 32" onto the wall and it looked incredible, vibrant and bright. The next day I tested it in my livingroom on my projector screen. I found out that the max diagonal is probably around 100" due to it losing brightness at that size and also, since it's native 720p, the sharpness is reduced. I also noticed on mine that the left side of the image was a little out of focus than the rest of the image. I debated on returning it and getting the P64 after all but honestly, for the size it is and the price, I still think it produces a good enough picture to warrant the purchase, as long as you use an external speaker that is. For portability and casting around 80" or less, you probably can't beat it for value and performance. Thank you for the video. I'm glad to see our comparisons align.
Hi thanks for commenting 😊 I 100% agree with you. I haven't got a 100" screen so I probably never noticed what you did. I was displaying at 80 inches and I noticed a resolution drop, but considering the price, and that it's fully portable I think it's incredible value, and to take this anywhere in the world with you is fantastic, this projector will pay for itself with the hours of fun you will have over the years when traveling. I do definitely recommend the p62 and the p64 for home use. If you ever have the spare change to purchase one, they are incredible value for the images they produce.
@@ReviewingHub I do have regrets on not buying the P64 especially since it was priced so low and having the specs it does. I may still buy it as I'm very much into projectors. But, the P61 definitely is so convenient for travel, you can basically have a nice tv image anywhere you have a wall. That's the draw of it. How much larger in size (physical dimensions) is the P64 vs the P61? Thanks
I would say it's roughly double the size, or maybe 2 and a half sizes bigger then the p61 so it's not as portable that's for sure. But the product is well built, it's odvisously intended for home use and not portability. But It's a great machine 😊
I just got this one from Amazon and returned it the same day - super disappointed in it's lack of Keystone correction :-( but the P60 was on sale on amazon and was cheaper.. so fingers crossed
Hi buddy thanks for your comment, I did say in my review it doesn't have any kind of keystone correction, the P60 projector is an amazing machine for the money. I'm actually reviewing it now, and I was impressed with it's picture performance. The P60 has massive angular range of Keystone correction which was quite impressive. My P60 review should be out tomo, so stayed tuned! :) I think you will be quite happy with this machine. :)
Can you please show how to pop the cover to clean it at 5.52. It looks very breakable on my projector and not easy to open. Maybe there is a way to do it?
Hi you will need a plastic prise tool, or you could use a butter knife with a piece of cloth around the blade so you don't scratch up the plastic to much. but this is very stiff to open, but you should be able to open it without damaging it. Buy yourself a rocket blower of Amazon or eBay, and once you have the door open, tip the projector up, so the door is facing the floor and blast your rocket blower in the hole and some of the dust will fall out the hole. Try this method first, before sticking in your swabs 😊👍 Hope this helps.
Any ideas on how to connect to a Google pixel phone? I have already connected the projector to my network, but when I go to scream cast on my phone; the projector doesn't show at all. I have already restarted my hone 😟 need help pleasd
Did you solve this issue? I'm guessing you need to download a 3rd party mirroring app for this to work. I had the same issue, Samsung and Google pixels don't find seem to find this projector. However, Huawei phones seem to works straight away. 3rd party apps from the app store should solve your problem 🙂👍
I've just set up the P61 projector for you, as I couldn't remember. You need to go to the Mcast section, scroll right to network settings and turn your WiFi on there, and you should be able to enter your password there. Hope that helps 🙂👍
I'm pretty sure it's in the settings somewhere, maybe the projection settings. I can't remember of the top of my head. When I get home I will set it back up and look for you 🙂👍
Hi sorry its late reply, I have just checked for you, if you look at the top of the menu system, you will see a square that looks like 4 blocks. this is the menu system. OSD language aspect ratio BT setting Reset Software Update OTA update Network Information. scroll down one more past Network Information, then you have Projection Zoom. hope this helps you :)
Hi thanks for your comment. I'm Sorry you feel this way, you can buy a longer power cable for this machine for a couple of pounds on Amazon if that helps. 🙂👍 As for the fan noise, it's on par with many of the other projectors on the market. They all range between 35-60dB usually. 🙂👍
