When I was younger (back in the early 90s), a friend and I went through all the possible lines of the Fried Liver because we liked cheapos (that's what we called cheap traps) and black was always better if you played it right. We started completely destroying anyone that played the Fried Liver as white. It was usually that they didn't know all the lines that we did. But every now and then, we would find someone that would know some of the best responses by black and they would still lose. Too bad I don't remember all the lines. It'd be interesting to see what the engines say now.

3:25 You can get mate in two here depending on which of the three squares black moves to. If the king moves to either d6 or d7, then yes, move the queen and all that like Levy said. HOWEVER, if they move their king to e7, you simply move your queen to f7+, black’s only move is king to d6 at which point you play knight e4# and the game is over. It’s actually a pretty beautiful checkmate

When I do get fried liver attack, it does always end up being 4:42 position. I am only 1500 but already in that level people seem to know all the counter moves as black. It's usually after 4:42 when people start running out of theory as black. The key as white is to memorize all the perfect moves at least 10-12 moves in to make fried liver work.

@@magnafire1 That would be super fun to watch. U16 as pawns (50/50 girls & boys), U21 as rook and horse (left side males, right side females, opposite), Amateur Fighters as rooks (one female, one male). King will be some male pro, queen a female pro. So what's left is a human scale chess board where each person is standing on their respective squares, then we watch Hikaru vs Magnus Carlsen ordering them around. Would love to see Hikaru premove stuff with live humans. Would be fun to see how that would play out. Each person NEEDS to win the fight in order to take a piece or else both gets taken out. Oh, and the king can't move for 2 turns if they win the fight, if the king wins the fight both pieces remain at their spots. No piece has to fight if they willingly remove themselves out of the game when they gets taken. If a piece refuse to fight but is supposed to take another piece it's considered an illegal move. Pieces can tag out and let someone else do the fight for them within their respective values that's already been taken out of the game. Knowing your pieces wins the game, not where you move them. Fight to the death is encouraged, no weapons. (Rooks gets aluminum bats tho) Hitting other pieces or moving out of their squares auto-resigns for their team. However! Should a brawl break out the side has the most pieces in the 4 center squares after 2 minutes wins and a winner is determined. I don't think I need to type out which skin color the pieces needs to be, and they have to be naked.
