I am on SSDI bc of Bipolar 1 Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder and severe anxiety. I was awarded disability in 4 months bc I had a history, at that time, of 10 years. I look and act totally fine, no one would ever guess how ill I am. People can be ill/sick/disabled so terribly and you’d never know it from the outside. I suffer so badly.

You are supposed to use diagnosis by the doctor for disability claim. Just you looking at the client and deciding is not your job. Your job is to read all the medical documentation given to you. You can’t base their claim on your “lack of knowledge “ because you’re supposed to use the medical documentation provided to you.

When I was approved for SSI I was told to get an attorney that specializes in disability so i did, and went to court 1 time and I stood in front of a judge and started physically crying, that was embarrasing because I was a 45 yr old grown woman ..I actually started having heart attacks about 2 weeks before i went to court..because I had no where to go to live also (that same day I was in court) I was approved then, and there...I do have very high anxiety and struggle with high blood pressure.200/100 every day with medication....I am now 66 and still on SSI.. got a back pay of $2,500..back then ,I now have bad back pain included..I have had 9 stents and Open Heart surgery..and 4 heart attacks... I move slow...very slow but i still can move...it took about 6 months to get my first pay....

My brother in-law died 3 times during heart surgerys and he has other major health problems and it still took him 7 years to get disability.

I think it is amazing that these people with "severe anxiety" have a spouse or daughter, etc, to do their grocery shopping. Severe anxiety sufferers like me never got married nor have relationships or children and literally have no one they allow in their life. They don't visit anyone ever or even make friends. They are 100% isolated and have suicidal ideations. They would starve to death if they didn't buy their own groceries. It seems very wrong and unfair to me that the truly and pathologically anxious people have no one to help them.

I am not sure if this is for the US, but I live in Canada. I have a few conditions so what I did was to get written statements from each specialist. If I remember correctly I was being seen by 5 specialist. I was immediately approved but I feel that was because of my due diligence in providing as much information as I possibly could. At the same time, someone I knew had a son who was attempting to get disability and he was repeatedly denied. I didn't understand why he was applying because he claimed to have the same issues as I did, but he could do everything I could not. Then I found out he falsified some paperwork, so yeah, that totally ticked me off and I reported him. I did not want to be disabled and then judged by people because they thought I was just too lazy to work. I can promise everyone that being bedridden due to the severity of my issues was terrible.

I am also on disability for my mental Ness bipolar depression have problem with my back and my knees . I have arthritis my vision is blurred.im already having these crazy elements. They're all coming out of the wood work for me. That's why I don't want to lose my disability it took me 3 long years to get it..I don't know if I'd like to go through that again. So I'm glad I actually happened to be looking at different stuff when I came across this. I want to read more and not let anything get in my way. Sounds easy compared to the UK. If you can lift an empty cardboard box, you are fit for work. Now they are bringing if you can press a key on a keyboard you are fit to work from home.

Sciatica can be relieved with stretches. I get terrible sciatica and can barely walk with it. But with stretching and ice/ heat, it clears up in a few days.

The whole system stinks. They make you go through hoops. They treat people without respect. They had my daughter waiting for the doctor for almost 3 hours. She was in so much pain she finally left without seeing the quack. Unexceptionable. Keep their SS. I will take care of my daughter.

Your videos have been really informative and eye opening. I am currently in the middle of a reconsideration. It has been over a year since my "exam" and first denial following the exam. The examining doctor did not ask me anything about me or anything. I saw him for less than 10 minutes and he only asked me one question. "Does your back hurt?" Just like that. I didn't know the context in which he was asking. He also stated that I needed no assistive devices to walk. Considering I am a below the knee amputee and the fact that I was in a wheelchair with my prosthetic on and I had a walker to use when not in my wheelchair. I just don't know. It was very disheartening when I heard, through my advocate, what his final statements where. Again he only asked me one question and saw me for maybe 10 minutes. Social security disability uses your words against you. It shouldn’t be that way. It should be based off medical documentation as some people are not as articulated in speaking. Better yet just get a ssdi attorney and the judge can’t ask you those questions and will have to base it off medical documentation like they are supposed to.

Hello doc, I really enjoy your videos. As far as psoriatic arthritis goes, if I cannot squat down does that mean I cannot lift anything? I can drop my behind about four inches at best. Been this way for ten months with methotrexate and prednisone.

So I have the R pretty large list of things. And there's main things that are causing most of the problem. I can be very descriptive. But I'm always afraid to do that because when I do that to a doctor they basically are like whoa. Whoa slow down one thing at a time. And because of that, I've never really gotten the best medical help. Simply because they don't actually want to listen to all the situations going on. I'm pretty sure they just think I'm a hypochondriac or something. So what I was thinking about doing was pretty much writing this up in a professional essay. Because it's a lot and it's very easy for me to forget certain aspects that might be very important because there's so much of it. Like I won't forget the main things but there's a lot. So my questioning to you is it a good idea for me to go ahead and just write up an essay in presentation so that I can show them? I could even do an anatomy chart for them as I did that before for my pain management when I was much younger. Because I was having trouble getting help because I was so young and they couldn't believe I was in as much pain as I was. So I ended up basically writing it all out and mapping it all out for them. And truth be told it still took years for any of us to get figured out. And even what got figured out was in proper diagnosis that I've only recently figured out 15 years later. But yeah, do you think it would be a good idea for me to just go ahead and write it out and be very descriptive of how it's affecting me and why and when? And I'll also add in the fact that I go to the gym every day because I take my health care seriously and I'm trying to heal. And I'm hope that's not going to work against me because I've been going to the gym since 11 years old and I know how to work out without injuring myself. I've had to rearrange my entire workout and go on a lot of machines to take weight off of my spine. But I don't have a problem working out. In fact, when I stop working out as I did last month due to a financial crisis. Because of this situation, everything got much much worse than only a matter of week. So before this I was well drilling and I am a pretty strong person. And even in physical therapy it was like they were trying to injure me because I can lift a lot more than most people are able to do. But what came to a point where I had to tell him? No, I'm not doing that. You're going to injur me. Like just because I'm capable of doing it through the injury doesn't mean I should right?. So is writing all this out and kind of a professional essay a good idea? I'm just afraid it's going to come off. Is this if I'm trying to scan the system or something like that?. And the reason for that is because that's almost how every doctor treats you through this situation through the experience I've had. Oh and thank you so much for your help on this channel. It's been invalid before me. And everything you say makes absolutely no sense. If it's weird, put some confidence in me that I'm not going to get overlooked into that will get out that just being honest about the situation.

Does blood work help with MPN cases, diagnoses polythysemia vera. Symptoms extreme fatigue, shortness of breath, brain fog, on rx opioids and Xanax. Low epo around 1, high hemoglobin 19 and hematocrit 59-62. On 3rd hematologist in 3 years and so far treatment hasn’t worked.

Can you apply for disability while still working waiting for approval ??

Hello Dr, I've had 2 neck surgeries, the 1st was called a botched surgery in 2010 , I have a plate in the front of my neck from it, my 2nd surgery was in Sept 23 and I've been out of work for 6 months and I'm still in pain I have numbness in both arms and hands, my neck still hurts, I have burning, numbness and tingling, I can't stand , look down or look up for more than 20 mins, I can't get in the floor and play with my grandchildren, my arms and neck burn , hurt and cause headaches if I'm sitting at a table eating. I can't squeeze anything in my arms without being in pain . It hurts my neck and back to carry a gallon of milk in both arms. I've had CT scans and I'm scheduled for a MRI next week, should I hire a lawyer and pursue disability I've been out of work for 6 months Thank you for listening

How are the chances with Peripheral Neuropathy and Spinal Stenosis?

Hubby was diagnosed 7 years ago with conjestive heart failure and Type 2 diabetes. In the last 12 months he has been diagnosed with less than 16% heart use and has not worked for over a year now. We hired a lawyer almost a year ago to help us with his social security claim and it has been stuck with the decision committee since this last January. He has another phone/video conference coming up this June. Should we expect a denile or approval on this first time decision? Oh, and he just had a defibrillator put in his chest this last week.

Well I have to stay in my home all the time with my parnert, she can no go any where because I will have a panic atack, and all that is me taken meds is I dont take the meds I will have a panic atack even with my parnert by my side, this illness is terrible I tried everything but nothing help me, only cry, my name is Daisy.

From my study the first hurdle to pass SSAD approval is the state organization that checks if you met a listing. The other two hurdles residual capacity to work and grid rules. If one meets the state listing then you get approved and there is no need for and exam with doctor like you. Now if one failed to meet a listing one would think a good and kindly government would send the claimant to you so you as an expert actor for our good and kindly government would share your knowledge with the claimant as to what medical documents the claimant should obtained from one's primary care or mental health provider to add to their claim and succeed. Wouldn't a success based system be more reasonable than the "adversarial" fail system that mysteriously exists?

Disability Exam, this has never been brought to my attention. I am making a phone call this morning.

SS looks at your age also. When we finally had to hire an attorney after 3 denials. He said they look at the illness and age to if can recoup from your illness and regain employment. The younger you are, the SS thinks your body will get in better shape to work. SS just looks for reason to say "No".

So why we have hospitals for if there no problem with people disabilities

Hi there, l live in Australia, do you have a recommendation of a good website that l could watch here in Australia. I'm not on a disability pension, I've been on a job seeker payment for nearly 6 years as I'm unable to work due to adult eperlipse, im on medication but still have at least 2 sezuresper month. I also have scoliosis which to me is worse than the sezures as my pain is quite severe 24/7, it stops me from sleeping, being on my feet any more than 10 mins, l definitely cannot lift anything any more, even showering is difficult. I've had problems with my spine for just over 30 years but it has worsened in the last 7 years, I'm on a slow release pain medication but it never takes the pain away and l understand that my body has become used to it as ive been on the same dosage for 2 years now. I have a question, I have not seen it covered. My 34 year old daughter is having a terrible time with dizziness. It started over 2 years ago when she was pregnant. Aaron is 19 months old now. She finally had to quit working about 6 months ago. She was so miserable with it. We thought it would go away after the baby was born. One ENT said Meniere's disease since her dad and brother have it. The second ENT said that wasn't it. She has been in physical therapy and chiropractor, and the therapy time is out. Her doctor sent her for an MRI. The Nuerologist appointment is not until May 2024. I thought it maybe from Covid that she had while pregnant. She has applied for but has not received Disability. Any suggestion to help her feel better and money to live on. I think she is having anxiety now. At least we know it is not a tumor. Any help, advice, or guidance would be so helpful. Thank you.

Im a shut-in I cant leave my house i cant drive because I freak out and i have a few more mental problems and at my hearing the judge nor my lawyers talked about my mental problems only my physical problems if I get denied im gonna have to appeal that because like I said my mental problems were not brought up by the judge nor my lawyer. Im gonna be doomed if i dont get it because I have so many physical and mental problems I need the medical help hell I dont even care about the money I need medical help and I dont qualify for Medicare or whatever that is because well basically because I never had any kids. I did tell them one medical prob that does affect me bad I have flat feet and that pain is no joke idk im 51 and I started working at the age of 15 and I have always had jobs up to the age of 45 if I dont get approved im scared i won't be around while waiting for the appeal i have a very bad bad ulcer in my stomach and i cant get any medical help with that because I have to see a gastrologist dr i was in the hospital for 7 days and i cant believe they kept me for that long because I have no insurance but thats how bad this ulcer is. My life sucks...and no i do not drink i haven't had a drink in 15 years i did smoke but I quit smoking i went 7 days with no nicotine they kept trying to give me a patch but I told him I didn't want it so I never did put one on. Idk now im freaking out i hope i get it oh yeah I also do have undiagnosed epilepsy my first seizure was Dec 24 2015 one minute I was wrapping a Christmas present and then im coming to in the back of an ambulance my dad was there I loked at him and he looked like he seen a ghost i will never forget the look on his face.

List everything that’s wrong with you on your CDR forms. I’ve had people list bipolar etc and then when it comes to height and weight they’re 5 foot 1 and weigh 300 pounds. Put down obesity! If you have diabetes put it at the TOP of the list.
