Evan admires several ornate Winchesters including the one issued in 1965 for Wyoming's Diamond Jubilee, the first of over 150 commemoratives. The Old West Museum curator describes his institution.

More knowledge of museums in Wyoming, glad people of the area saw fit to help save your city's history. Thanks Evan and the staff and help to produce these informal videos.

Your videos are always very watchable, Evan, and when Mike invites you onto his turf, they're equally so. It's too bad that he's such a man of few words. If you could only get him to open up a bit and share his knowledge, it would be a genuine treat. 👍🤣🤣🤣

My wife and I spent happy hours at the museum. Stunning collection. Only wish we had found the State Museum as well…

Those Winchester sure are pretty but for myself I prefer plain jane types of guns. American walnut stocks and blued metal. But my best buddy on the other hand likes his guns the fancier the better. 👍

👍 I really like your videos and have learned a lot from them. However, recently I’ve noticed your videos spent 50%+/- of their time speaking about events and/organizations and the remaining time discussing the stated purpose of the video. As an example over 6-1/2 minutes of this 11-1/4 minute video was on the museum and Frontier Days while only an average of only 1-1/4 minutes to speak about each rifle. I suggest that 3-4 minutes on the museum and Frontier Days would be appropriate (preferably 3 minutes) leaving 7-8 minutes to talk about the rifles - the title of the video. This is meant only as a suggestion, not a complaint. Another option would be to spend 8+ minutes on the rifles and 5 minutes on everything else. Or, retitle the video. In any event I enjoy your videos.

Thank you for your suggestions. We recorded a total of six videos at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum. It was an opportunity for some cross pollination between the OWM and the Wyoming State Museum. Because OWM was generous in hosting Firearms Friday, I considered it appropriate to allow Mike to present some publicity for his museum and for Frontier Days. To the best of my recollection, the remaining videos will spend more time on firearms although there is an episode covering a stagecoach in the collection. I know this is "FIREARMS" Friday. Truth be told, I have covered almost all of the WSM collection in almost 100 videos. The choice is to expand into other Western artifacts and locations, or terminate the series. Give me your thoughts on the best way to proceed. I'm considering videos on the fur trade (which will include firearms, traps, and tools), evolution of cowboy hats, and sheep wagons including the cattle/sheep wars of the Rocky Mountain West.

@@evangreen9430 I appreciate the need for the plug. That is a very good question about future series. Not sure I have a very good answer. The fur trade would be a great series and probably my favorite of the suggestions. The evolution of gear is a topic you don’t see a lot about and truthfully can be very interesting, who wouldn’t want to know how the Mexican sombrero became the hat you wear in these videos? 🤷🏻‍♂️. An historic description of the cattle/sheep wars in the Rocky Mountains could put to rest the “legends” created by Hollywood. Truthfully, almost any topic about Wyoming and Rockies would interest me, guess I am a Rocky Mountain/Wyoming fan-boy. I had 2 roommates in college from Wyoming (1 from Sheridan and 1 from Laramie).
