When I first heard Wind Rose, I wasn't really into metal. I was looking for the original Yogscast version when I stumbled across it. And I didn't even want to listen to it then. But once I gave in, I got hooked. Now I listen to Wind Rose, Sabaton, Storm Seeker, Feuerschwanz, and other Power/Folk/Symphonic Metal bands.
@@moradin84 With the difference that spaghettification doesn't rip your molecules apart. But I suppose that depends on what bands you end up liking the most.
Diggy diggy hole is the song that made me discover them, but i fell in love for all other, we were warriors, wintersaga, to erebor, drunken dwarves to name a few. This one, is on another level from ALL of the previous
The baggage with Gates of Ekrund might be that it's about a piece of lore from Warhammer Fantasy. Dunno if it really compares to the baggage you spoke of regarding Diggy Diggy Hole, and it's probably a bit more blatant in its reference compared to their LotR-inspired songs, but it might attract listeners just based on that. Still a great song on its own though! Looking forward to the album!
Nice. "To erebor" is the only song of them i listened to. Besides i get to know these guys by a simple coincidence: before a video i wanted 2 see started, there was their song in advertisement. Perhaps it's ok to disable ad-block from time 2 time.
Talking about Manowar...I don't find the reaction to "Warriors of the World United" by Feuerschwanz :o And Wind Rose have done so much great older stuff, maybe worth a watch?
Diggy diggy hole is cool, but what about Wintersaga (song) and Mine mine mine? I think that Wintersaga is waaaay better and more epic than Diggy diggy hole... But, yeah, except those 3, I agree with you for the rest of the record, haha
This one the best song since _Diggy Diggy Hole_ ? Have you guys even listened to _We Were Warriors_ ? Also, as catchy as _Diggy Diggy Hole_ may be, and despite the good it's done to the band, I don't agree with it being the best one from that album (Wintersaga). Like every record, you need to give it many run throughs in order to fully appreciate all its nuances. Granted, there's no accounting for tastes, yet aside from that one I cited above, there's imho two or three more songs at least that are WAY SUPERIOR to _Diggy Diggy Hole_ (one of them being the title track)... e.g. _Mine Mine Mine!_ (and don't even get me started on the epic _There And Back Again_ ). Sorry but I just don't find it fair to hail Wind Rose as 'the band that made the cover of _Diggy Diggy Hole_ ', like it seems people are ending up calling them all the time. There's so much more to them than that, and so many better songs (released before as well as after), that it just won't make them justice.
yeah i am with Aaron, Manowar is gargage! lol never understood the appeal of that band, and i am all for over the top pompous loin cloth clad power metal. but like kiss! image can only go so far. their music is so generic. give me some blind guardian, Rhapsody of fire or helloween instead.
