Wind Tunnel Testing 

District engineers recently traveled to Guelph, Ontario, Canada to observe wind tunnel testing of a scale model of the Bridge in anticipation of the next phase of our seismic retrofit project--the suspension span.
The suspension span is the most iconic part of the Bridge and will be the most expensive section to retrofit and the most challenging for crews. To perform the work, workers will need to build platforms and enclosures under the roadway, and we need to ensure these don't disrupt the structural integrity of the Bridge.
We want a structure that will last and be able to withstand anything Mother Nature puts at it. It's "What We Do."
