Chris Martin
President at Martin Up Consulting Inc.
Chris has held HSE roles throughout North America at Vestas, NextEra, and TransAlta. He is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) and is a voting member of the CSA Z259 Technical Committee (Fall Protection Standards). Chris, our Moderator, will be outlining historical safety concepts that still ring true today and how these proven models may be used to evaluate future loss prevention.
Christian Bak
Senior Scientist, DTU Wind Energy
Christian has carried out research at the Technical University of Denmark since 1997, and is now head of the new Poul la Cour Tunnel, where his focus is theoretical and experimental airfoil and rotor aerodynamics and aeroacoustics. He is a co-inventor of active trailing edge flaps. Christian will be sharing relevant insights from his extensive wind tunnel measurement campaigns and his investigations into the influence of blade leading edge roughness and erosion on aerodynamic performance.
Dr. Carsten Westergaard
President, Westergaard Solutions
Dr. Westergaard has 25 years of global wind experience. He is a senior advisor to Sandia National Laboratories's wind program and a lifelong inventor. He is formerly a Professor of Practice at Texas Tech University and Global Technology Director at Vestas Wind Systems. Dr. Westergaard will be discussing the AEP impact of erosion and LEP solutions, and sharing a simple calculator for leading edge erosion and performance optimization for use in repair prioritization and planning across the fleet.
Martin Huus Bjerge
CEO, Rope Robotics
Martin is CEO and Co-Founder of Rope Robotics, providing rotor blade repair service. Previously, Martin helped Siemens achieve operational performance improvement of its wind turbines through business intelligence. Martin will be speaking to the technological underpinnings of automated blade maintenance, in which robots are used in high-risk tasks, and how to consistently provide a high repair quality.
