This is probably my favorite piece of yours. I absolutely love the aesthetic and the captivating character you've created.

Have you looked at your art from a year ago to now. Mind blowing on how good it’s got in just a year and how your style is changed too

The commentary you do for your videos is awesome, you're so good at analysing the way you do your art. The piece is lovely too, the coloured lineart is pretty cool!

I just found you last night and I find all your advice to be so helpful with dealing with my own art. This video speaks to me so much and I hope to be able to gain the same skill that you did about pieces that didn't turn out like I planned.

I LOVE your style. I've been trying to learn watercolor and have been pouring through the sources on skillshare and telling everyone I know about it! Thank you for sharing your work! Legit, you should teach some classes on your style, I would love to know how you do everything!!!!

I love these chats you have about negative thoughts of art. Sometimes it's nice to hear others talk about the things that we do know on the inside but out loud. I get the same exact feelings all the time when I doodle to the point where sometimes I'm no longer having fun but become too stressed out and my partner would have to remind me to be less critical. I would go to sleep and come back and like it a lot and my partner would give me that cheeky looking that says "I told you that its fine".

Wow, it turn out so pretty. The gold accents look gorgeous. I go through a similar process with all my pieces. Leaving them alone for an hour or a day always helps. Sometimes a friend comments to keep me from destroying a piece. LOL! "Don't destroy it! It looks good." I agree with you, Danica. We learn a great deal and improve, when we perservere. Fix our work. Happy mistakes into happy accidents and opportunities. :)

That's really inspiring! :) Usually when I'm stuck with my drawings there's always a moment when I try to decide rather if it's worth it to keep on going or just start over. I agree that the expectations that we have even before starting it is a big issue! Sometimes they distract me so much that I can't see what I can actually improve and what could make the drawing better, because it would be different from what I wanted before. You're result is so lovely, thou! Love how her dress came out :)

As someone who is very novice at the art forms I try, I would totally say that mindset is key! Some of the pieces that took me on the greatest adventure, that I felt the best about when I finished, I went into with NO expectations! Haha. But honestly, avoiding judging yourself (especially when learning!) is so very important.

The best part is your sincerity and honesty about yourself. I love the way you know yourself and you accept your feelings. It's amazing and inspiring. You put in words and in order the feelings that I also get while drawing and that I do not understand too well. Thank you. You are amazing

Love the painting! For me, I guess it mostly depends on why I think a piece is beyond repair; if I notice a mistake that should've (or could've) been fixed in the sketch stage, I'll evaluate if I can correct it as much as possible with light/shadows. If it's something else, I'll step away for a bit from it, too. The other thing is that sometimes I realize that I hadn't thought through so far ahead, so in my mind I just had a "glorified sketch" idea of the drawing, didn't realize it would turn into a full-blown illustration XD In that case I take things slow and sometimes look at references at that point, looking for a "spiritual" or "essence" guide for it, instead of actual reference for a pose or landscape or whatever, that usually steers me very well in the direction that I want to go to and the technique just flows.

+Danica Sills How long typically does a piece like this take for you? Also do you prefer the mixed media brushes? (I use them a lot for water color and ink wash). Love your vids, tutorials are ace.

This piece is absolutely gorgeous 😍😍 I'm actually a starting (like I mean one month ago starting) watercolor artist and I was wondering if you would ever do a video on shading? I know you did one on skin, but I'm talking basic, simple light to dark fading & shading. Is there some trick I should be aware of, as I always end up ruining my watercolor paper when I have to redo a single part of a painting due to my horrible shading skills 😂😂 suggestions from anyone?

It may be a silly question, but there's a name for this kind of art style? because I really love this kind of style that remember me a sort of tarot cards but when I try to explain to my friends I don't really know how to define it

Hi! I've been wondering... I just tried watercolor out, got the right paper, didn't use too much water, but my paper still buckles and In your videos, I never see any buckling. What process do you go through to make sure your paper never buckles? Or only buckles a slight bit?

I actually find that art I'm origianlly very unhappy with, is also the ones that end up the best. Probably because it forces me to really analyze the piece.

Toward the end of the video you are your background and the brush goes over your already done work. How does it not bleed? I can't even paint next to an already dry spot without it bleeding or reactivating the already dry and potentially messing it up. It's very stressful at times. Is it the paint??

When I try finishing a piece and get stuck, I usually add a different media. I sketch it out. Or I restart.
