I really like it because my interpretation has always been that it shows he’s still a child. He gets a sacred and really powerful sword, and his first instinct is to swing it around and feel cool. Then the gravity of the situation sets in and he has to compose himself. He’s just a kid way in over his head, but he never despairs, it’s more than you see brief moments of immaturity shine through. It’s what makes him one of my favorite incarnations of Link. Or maybe I’m just reading too far into it
3:54 I've noticed that when a Zelda game has toon Link in it, the cutscenes decide to put him in situations that would *not* be survivable more than the other games. Obviously he's a toon, so he can survive it, but it's not just a wind waker thing. It's in Spirit Tracks and Phantom hourglass too.
The block pushing torch puzzle could be entirely skipped if you connected the game to your GBA and bought the tingle balloon, which was the best use of the feature in the entire game.
Somehow the editing on these videos gets better and better, but in a way where the old videos are still just as high quality and fun to watch compared to the new ones. The consistency of quality is ridiculously high even from the first video, it's incredible. Thank you for putting so much work into making such amazing videos!
There's this thing i always experience. Anyone who has a wind waker profile picture is an asshole. For real, every time. Does anyone else notice this too? If you have a wind waker pfp, I'm not calling you an asshole btw. But I have never seen a nice person with one. Btw, I love wind waker. (twilight princess is the best)
About that statue in hyrule castle. It's definetely supposed to be ocarina of time, but in the wind waker art style. Wind waker takes place in the adult timeline right after ocarina of time. When the hero of time travels back in time he basically gets erased from that timeline. The triforce of courage then splits and scatters across the world, and that's why you have to find the pieces. And along with the hero of time, the spirit of the hero or whatever mumbo jumbo comes with him, so this timeline does not have a real hero. So wind waker Link does not have the spirit of the hero, so he's basically just some kid with a lot of courage. It just makes sense that the statue would be the hero of time in a different art style, even if the hair is really off. Would be super cool if they tried giving him the right hairstyle. Timeline mumbo jump source? Hyrule historia official timeline, years of theories and agreements among fans. Statue speculation? Me. I like using my brain to think about useless things, but they make me happy so it's ok.
Originally this game was supposed to have link slowly grow into an adult through out the campaign. People think that’s what link would’ve looked like by the end of the game.
