I've been really pressed for time this entire week due to personal commitments, as well as our school pit orchestra. I still really wanted to get a video out for you guys, though, so I sat down at my keyboard and riffed on this tune. And bam, there was the arrangement!
The Wind Waker is one of those games that I really want to get around to playing, but I just haven't had time to at this point in my life! The music is just so emotional, and it really evokes adventuruous vibes, moreso than some of the other Zelda games. The title theme is the perfect prelude to this adventure.

+minimario101 I think that if he does more Fire Emblem stuff, it should be with map themes, since they're more relaxed. FE6 and FE7 in particular have some nice map themes. But if he does one recruitment theme, it would be better to do a medley of all of them. Still, I wish that he and jonnyatma (he does metal versions of VG music) could work together on something eventually, so maybe the recruitment themes would work well for that.

I am actually in love with this tune. You said it wasn't your best arrangement, but honestly I love it. It's been months since I first heard it, but this song somehow keeps coming back to mind. One of my favorite covers of yours of all time. The downbeat of 4:30 kickstarts a completely new, yet still the same song, and that tenor solo is so smooth it hurts. Remember, not all jazz has to be as harmoniously complex as Giant Steps.

Fantastic, got teary-eyed. Will listen a second time. Love the buildup. That shout chorus as you call it is so good in the orchestral version with the low brass, but it's too short! You give justice to that part for sure.

I think the best way to go about arranging something is to improv the most important track and put everything on top of it later, and that is what you just did. it worked quite well.

The original of this, specifically the version used in the staff roll for the game, feels triumphant. Like a person returning home, alive and victorious, after a war. This cover still feels like a return home, but a less victorious one. This song makes me feel as though I am returning home at last after so many years away, to see the smiles of my family once more. And I love it.

What a nice, relaxing and emotional arrangement. I think Zelda games have the most sentimental pieces of music that always sound fantastic in this Jazz style you master. Great job, and you are still my favorite musician on RU-vid. :)

I remember I learned to play this on accordion a few years ago, I might still have it in my muscle memory. Also, now that your piano has the spotlight, it's not hard to notice your movements while playing. I don't understand how people can look so professional doing it, I look more like a wacky inflatable arm flailing tube man when I play accordion! Outstanding arrangement, like always.
