Hello friend, helpful video thanks and congrats, there is something which i want to correct in your procedure, as a electronic engineer, my advice is to never use scratching paper on golden plated contacts, you will resolve the problem for short term, for long term you are damaging the pads beyond repair, the gold protects the pads from oxidation and is a few microns thick any scratch on them will expose the cooper and the oxidation process is unstoppable form that point, please use isotropic alcohol to clean the pads, is an non invasive cleaning, and is doing the job as well, please add a comment in your video, so the viewers won't damage the board and contact pads Thanks. and best regards from Romania
Agree wholeheartedly. Scotchbrite pad is way too aggressive for the flashed gold plating, but if the tarnish will not move with IPA, try an ink eraser. That will provide some very very fine abrasion without damaging the plating.
Helpful video, a bit long winded but appreciated 😉 I used toothpicks where you used your little metal strips to separate the base plate and I used contact cleaner and cotton buds to clean the components, but the main thing is you identified the problem and my window works perfectly again so thanks.
Brilliant video! I have just sorted out the windows on our Peugeot 307 by dismantling the drivers side switch and cleaning the contacts with switch cleaning spray and a cloth. Thank you👍
Hi. I've got peugeot 307 without SW version, in case of windows controller i got only front windows controlled on my panel, but your video helped me greatly, thank you so much.
Bravo, faci niste tutoriale interesante si educative ,ne scuteste de service si economisim bani ,am un peugeot exact ca al tău si te urmaresc din România 🤗
I cleaned a few days ago mine, half was not working unless pressed really hard and yes, those small pins are pain in the ass to "open"! Nice video! we have almost identical cars except mine is leather interior.
Cleaning the contacts work perfectly. Although in my case I ended up buying a new unit. About 15€ on Ebay! My 307 was an ex company car. Which means that everybody beaten it up and nobody cared for it. Lacking a lot of TLC! For only God knows what reason! The unit was totally scratched and not even screwed in place! The holding screw is missing also! Either case a shiny brand new unit looks way better than the wrecked unit. For 15€ I surely can't complain. ;-)
Wow! Very useful video!! I've a request: Can you make a little video of how the take off the A/C exit that's inside the cabine (above the CD player) please 🙏 Thanks!
Hi. It work in my case, the same problem with button for right window. Be very carefull when you have to lift/remove the first button because i broke a part from inside. This button is the one which close/open left+right rear mirrors.
My passenger window is the same as the video however my rear electric windows don't work at all (from front panel or rear panels) any idea how I could fix it?
Nooooooo don’t use screwdrivers to remove panels and plastic interior, you’ll damage or break it. Use decent nylon tools, they cause no damage Prior to touching circuit board, make sure to don’t create static or de static yourself. Touch a metal object that isn’t linked to electrics and don’t wear anything like fleece clothing. Otherwise you’ll toast the board I replaced my whole until with an eBay one £12.99, 20 secs to replace. Job done
Yes. that's correct. For most modern cars, namely this Peugeot 307. Get a torx T20 and T30, in screwdriver form. It will be the best addition to your tool box! ;-) Those dreaded L shape torx sets are cheap, but a nightmare if you really need something done.
I had my dissisembeld and clean it it just made problem worse you should first check wires that are in door joint most of the time problem is there and you will just do more damage dissisembeling the switch unit wich is basicly what i did i clean it with contact cleaner
Thanks! Very good video.. without any edditing so I can see what can happen if you remove the button haha... btw, my Windows go up very slow.. any idea how that is possible?
Use a ratchet screwdriver as it’s quicker to get screws out. Don’t use power tools as they’ll destroy the screw. Don’t use a flat head screwdriver to remove the switch as you’ll damage the panel or switch, use strong nylon tools.
