The title of the video could also be - disabling all the useful features for windows that never had security in mind. WHY don't builders/window makers care about security at all?! It's upsetting
The vinyl clips only block the lower sash window from opening. The top sash window can still be pushed down to allow access that way. It's not as convenient as using the lower one but still a security access issue. .
It’s a shame how we have to barcode ourselves in our own homes to be safe from thugs that’s not afraid to come into a person's home and not knowing what's on the other side of the door.
Thanks wanted to find something not so bulky. My house was being broken into like you said in the video. The idiot tried it while we were in the house at broad daylight too. It’s a shame. We’re all lucky including the burglar that he didn’t make it all the way in.
If you have double hung windows, the best think you can do is to replace them with single hung windows. There is absolutely no way to effectively secure double hung windows other then covering them with security bars.
How do you open the window for cleaning the outside of the window? I assume then you would have to unscrew the piece of wood every time you want to clean them.
So, now you can't tip them in to clean them and even worse, if I slip the built-in locks with a butter knife I can just push down on the top window and still get in...right??
