Doesn't matter anymore to me. I did take the jump, increased that recovery partition earlier this year, gained confidence and now I am a Linux user. Windose can only thank themselves for this.
🎉Thank you!!!! This week I formatted my pc and this KB 441did not appear .. I was worried but now I understand . That's why it was automatically removed from my updates that had to be made after formatting.
Got excited for a moment. Had hidden it months ago. Unhid it and tried Updates and it STILL shows and oh gee YUP, still FAILS. Which I do NOT understand (yes, BitLocker encryption is on, my recovery partition is 650MB though so should be enough). But there is a Partition 6 (what and how this got made I have NO clue, was NOT by me (only one using this computer) which is only 200MB BUT it's not in use ... I really do NOT want to try the manual steps MS insists on users do to fix THEIR screwup. So guess it's back to HIDING it again *SIGH*
Well, it went away when I reinstalled windows because it realized that the partition needed to be a little bit bigger so it raised the partition like maybe 20 MB so instead of it being now I’m not exactly sure but I think it was maybe, 520 something megabytes and it needed another 20 MB so now it’s like 546 MB so it installed just fine after doing that and I did that by accident. I got a new solid-state drive in this PC in April, and what happened was, I didn’t realize that I formatted the wrong flash drive, so I had to re-create the update so apparently Not the update but the windows image for the flash drive so apparently I guess they updated it to fix it for clean installs, but to those who are still having smaller recovery, partitions or no recovery partition this could be good news. So thanks for sharing and sorry about my little rant yesterday. But I’m happy to see that Microsoft woke up. Maybe it’s because of the cold water I poured on them yesterday ha ha just playing. Lol. But nice job on fixing it and I hope this is a sign that Microsoft is going to do better at serving their customers better. Let’s keep our fingers crossed with cautious optimist. Just for the record. This is with the windows media created with the Microsoft media creation tool not a third-party Dell recovery partition. This is all straight Microsoft Microsoft Windows recovery environment, Microsoft created media.
