Many people have complained that Windows 10 is slow with their SSD. Some people this is after cloning a hard drive and for some it is a fresh install. This video goes through all the things you can try to speed up your Windows 10 system on a solid state drive.
Registry changes:
*Change all encounters of EnableULPS from 1 to 0

You are the *man*!!!...I had a black screen for about a minute during startup. Now boot time is reduced to 9 seconds

just when I had given up. Also didnt have the ULPS options also, but power saver, and the startup one combined with disabling superfetch, windows search, and btts all finally brought my disk usage back down to it's semi decent 15-35% THANK YOU SO MUCH MY HERO

If you have graphic card other than AMD, you shouldn't have this option as "ULPS is a feature of AMD GPUs which are in a multi-GPU CrossFire configuration."

Thanks! The harddisk energy option at the end made a huge difference. It is yet faster then before problems have started.

I would just add to check that your boot partition is not misaligned. I used an old tool to create the partition on a new SSD, and the partition was misaligned. The computer was taking 5-10 minutes to boot, and was experiencing severe slowdowns. Realigning the partition brought things back to normal. Partitions created by windows will be correctly aligned.

It was working just fine, i had multiple restarts to confirm it...worked fine for 2 days until i put my laptop to sleep. And it happend again...now cant even open chrome

I'm not sure which of these things did the trick, but going through all the steps in your video helped me fix the issue. For me, the problems did not manifest until after the 1607 "Anniversary update" (14393.0 through 14393.105.) I got frustrated and reinstalled a fresh copy of that build, but the constant freezing still occurred. Running a Dell XPS 8300 (Sandy Bridge, H67) with AMD R9 380 and Crucial M500 240GB boot drive. Tested with and without other drives present. Thank you!

After having cloned my disk system to an SSD, Windows 10 was constantly freezing, I updated the firmware of my Kingston SSD and my problem was solved. I hope this helps!

Thanks, good effort, I did some changes as you mentioned; it did help for some days, which was on and off until I realized that my power adapter was faulty.; so i replaced it with a 90W adapter and I could see the result immediately.; the pc is flying again, no need to reboot :-) I wish I knew it before all these changes and reformatting the PC several times!

HIPM+DIPM is default ;) Changing IDE to AHCI in BIOS, after installing disk drive, makes system not bootable. Do not do it, unless you intend to format the drive and install fresh new copy of WIndows.

@@aadarshaofficialchannel6173 Pc specs is normal. There is a performance different in Laptop and desktop. I won't use laptop, they're slow like hell. My Desktop specs i5 7400, 240GB WD SSD, 1TB HDD, 16GB @2400MHz, RTX 2070 super. Basically SSD allows me to run this desktop on full performance. Whenever I install windows on HDD it install same as lower pc specs, but in SSD it is tooo fast

I've tried everything... I mean the computer is not so slow that it takes hours for shit to complete but it's just not as snappy as it was on windows 7... CrystalDiskMark shows normal speeds, but when I do things in the system, it does not show. For example trying to delete, move files and transfer files i get to like maximum of 40mb/s when it's supposed to do 10x that speed. When i'm playing games it takes like minutes to log in or log out. On windows 7 those things were instant....

If you didn't understand what I was saying is that I tried windows 10, but the PC became slower compared to what it was on windows 7. Windows 7 is faster and more stable.

i bought samsumg evo 960 500gb 2 of them, i tranfer file between those SSD to SSD it stupidly slow 10mbps. while HHD to SSD or HHD to SSD the tranfer rates above 100 mbps

it did help me a little but did not fix my problem with my clone disk not sure what is wrong tried everything now my pc would run normal the it would start freezing even giving me bsod sometimes when i click on anything then it would sometimes be fast for a little bit untill i click on something then it would freeze tried all commands even bought system advance tool pro to help speed up my cpu usage and ram usage is on les than 2% even tried repairing ssd drive

Had this issue on a 3500$ custom build, the command he's using no longer works in 2020 or at least for windows 10 pro. I tried other variants of the code like extreme performance mode, I spammed the code like 40 fucking times, and then it just worked when I closed it out, not the most orthodox approach, but it worked lol

Probably best to note that enabling High Performance will drain the battery faster for you laptop users.

A computer I was working on has windows 10 pro on a pny 128gb SSD, and it's also badly slow. I'm gonna try these steps. This computer is on a p6n sli platinum Mobo with nforce 650i chipset, and I read that nvidias support for sata controllers we're awful, so I just assumed that's the culprit. I'll give these a try and see what happens.
