Its because Kubuntu uses KDE as Desktop Environment. KDE is the most customizable DE. You can install kde on any linux distribution not just Kubuntu.

@@alok.01 I will tell you tons of advantage Out of that I will tell you one If you are going to install any connector for ex. Kafka connector to Windows then it requires .JAR file and giving the plugin path on Windows is literally damn tough thing Where as in Linux it's supremely easy Only 5 minutes of task that's it. And multiple utilities are supported by Linux rather than Windows And for a developer it's very handy to use Linux.....

*If you face any problem while using linux then , ask for help in linux community, it's only OS which is run by its community I personally used Linux mint and Ubuntu and whenever I stuck somewhere I asked about the same in community and got answers within 24 hours.

After watching such comparison videos, I decided to give it a try. Since few months I have been using Ubuntu along side Windows 11. Me lifelong windows user and have used mac os for 1-2 months. Due to force of habit, I still keep using windows but lately, liking Linux more and more. Its a lot similar to mac os in terms of usage (since both linux and mac os are derivatives of unix). Here are some observations (me no pro user, just a daily user): 1. Animations and transitions are more refined in mac and windows but in Linux, it isn't that smooth (My PC is quite powerful, legion Y740, 2019 model ) 2. Windows alternate apps like mail clients, office apps have old school UI. Finding alternatives will take an effort too but at the same time, you will get to learn and about alternatives. But if you are a developer, then pretty much everything you find in windows will have a linux option. 3. Performance in Linux is FAR FAR better than windows. In windows, RAM usage is at 30% (of 16GB) even when idle but in Ubuntu, its only 10%. 4. Windows is not even remotely close in privacy in comparison to any Linux. Have configured a vpn and now I'm browsing worry free 5. Command line will take some time getting used to but the few ones I have used it so far, it feels faster than GUI. P.S. Please give Linux a try. Its like an arranged marriage. Initially it will feel new, strange, weird and awkward but slowly with time love will start blooming 😀😀

* Once Arch Linux, you are using all OS which are corporate backed and tons of bloat software, install archlinux with kde-plasma x11. You won't be disappointed, In my case PC boots in only 4 seconds [ofcourse you have to tweak in grub] /etc/default/grub -> change these 1. GRUB_TIMEOUT=0 2. GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="loglevel=3 quiet sysrq_always_enabled=1" * My idle ram with kde+mpv running is only 1.8G out of 28 G [27G since 4G for integrated graphics] You can even run MS office apps with some efforts in VM * You can run android through waydroid, you may requier kde-plasma-wayland but just works fine * You have try any OS in VM first then make switch to it.

Well, I got the first recommendation of this video, also it doesn't matter what operating system we use, Windows or GNU/Linux. It's better to know in what OS you're most productive and comfy. GNU/Linux is also a reason, for people who care about privacy. Some people mention I use Linux to sometimes they think *linux make them cool* where it's pretty like a piece of cake.

Even better it can run windows VM's, some hardware pass-through in VM can play games without problems [KVM-QEMU virtual machine, Xen Virtual Machine, Vmware, Virtual box etc] 3. Emulators [Waydorid, Retro-arch] 4. software for gaming [Steam's Proton, Wine, Lutris etc] 5. Editing software [Kdenlive, Gimp, Krita, Inkscape, Shotcut, Ffmpeg, Blender] 6. IDE's [vi and vim distributions, emac, nano, DE-editors(gedit, kate etc), sublime text] 7. Ecosystem [Kdeconnect, Scrcpy, Gsconnect] Final Checkmate 1) installing Windows 11 in VM * which runs all software supported by windows. * VM also supports drag and drop * Support for older version of windows program while not degrading performance * Hardware passthrough for best performance [Direct access of Graphics card for VM] * Full fledged adobe suite and MS office can run in VM. * Supports Whatever ecosystem Windows have. 2) installing Hackintosh * Most Mac software run without problem * All mac supported suites * Most features offered by mac os All these takes time and tweaking, some efforts but it can run without problems. Set once and enjoy lifetime

Maturity is realising that no platform is the best. It all depends on your requirements, the apps you need, the flow and the interface you prefer. Even for development environment you should pick the OS where your application will finally be used or hosted. And many people think that linux is secure just because its open source. Granted that with open source anyone can lookup the code and fix the vulnerability, it also goes the other way as exploits can be found easily by directly looking at the source, no need to reverse engineer. Currently, linux is relatively secure due to low market share and people who use it are generally more technically literate thus making malicious programs for it doesn't make sense for the hackers.

Big companies are cornering microsodt with their own distro's as well. Intel has clear linux, google has chrome os and its flex version(based on gentoo linux) and valve has steamOS(based on arch linux) which is shipped on every steam deck. Will they succeed or not is a different story, both valve and google are seeing good amount of success with steam deck and chromebooks respectively (atleast in the us) and chrome os flex can be a tempting choice for those users who have a really old computer and just wanna use it for browsing. Daily drive artix linux and love using it.

@@anurag12181 well basically a spin off of manjaro with a different theming. Most of its apps already have been for years and were made and are used in manjaro.arch has way less bloat and can easily be made to look so called stunning as garuda.

@@YT69 garuda is not same as manjaro it has zram default, it uses zen kernel , it has garuda assistent which automatically install best nvidia and intel drivers, garuda gamer also help to optimize games in minutes and garuda uses arch repository and manjaro don't also garuda handle heavy software like an really engine and blender much better

I very much prefer Linux.. No antivirus is needed for entire life.. works smooth on low harware sepecifications. 20 minutes to install ... Different flavours (more than 300 distros) Softwares are free (not pirated)... In hacking Linux is no 1..Windows apps works on linux through wine utility...Feel the freedom with linux, its your own OS. I do my 90% things on Linux... Future of Linux going to be great no doubt.. windows are used widely due to its marketing, not for its quality. Linux is very much better.

@@Supergamer-tv5pv No, Windows is slow and buggy. Mainly because there's a lot of telemetry (tracking) that is using up your CPU and RAM. Also in general its very heavy. I have completely deleted windows and I'm doing literally everything on Linux. Both for programming and other everyday things.

Linux is not like windows it works differently and uses different tools and softwares, it may take some time to adjust but its far better than in windows in my opinion( i used linux far more than i used windows, so windows is the one which feels weird/hard to me)

Hi , I am Win10 user (Day to day common man of 61 yrs) which will be expires on 14/10/25. My Present hardware will not be able to carry Win11. (Presently I used a laptop of Dell - intel core i5 3340 MPU @ 2.70 Ghz - x64 based - RAM - 4GB, SSD-512 GB). I like to switch on Linux for day to day use, like bank operation, email, web browsing, online shopping, entertainment like movies, music, RU-vid etc (NO GAME). Please suggest me, can I able to survive without Win11 and which Linux will be more convenient for me like common man (non programmer, non CS student). Thanks....

I am using arch linux with plasma kde desktop environment and trust me plasma is the most customizable desktop env and arch linux is most costumizable os so mixed together becomes 50% self-made os. I love arch linux with plasma kde over windows. windows is just trash
