Thank you so much, Bucky. I always love watching your tutorials. They're easy to follow and in-depth. This tutorial was made FOUR YEARS ago and it still helps!
Thank you!!! I plan on watching all of your tutorials on Windows Command Line, but wanted to comment immediately about this video! It cleared up confusing I was having with basic operations and resolved a lot of grief I was experiencing while trying to get Yolov3 image detecting software working.
Another way to open command line is press [ "windows" + "r" ] then type "cmd", then you won't have to type cmd every time (because run remembers the last command you used)
I just wanted to say thank you so much. I needed to figure out pretty much the most basic of things in the command prompt: How to change directories. This video explained it simply and quickly, thank you.
Command Prompt is a command line interpreter application available in most Windows operating systems. Command Prompt is used to execute entered commands. Most of those commands are used to automate tasks via scripts and batch files, perform advanced administrative functions, and troubleshoot and solve certain kinds of Windows issues. Command Prompt is officially called Windows Command Processor but is also sometimes called the command shell or cmd prompt, or even referred to by its filename cmd.exe.
I just subscribed. I hope you make a lot more videos because your presentation was very clear and easy to listen to and see. I'm just learning how to develop a website in joomla and also working with XAMPP so probably have to deal with the command line from time to time, even if not looking forward to it :) Keep up the good work.
Thank you. Great tutorial. Great focus on what is needed. Going forward... I am here because I want to understand better how to compile my c++ programs. You know, to work directly with cmd mainly.
Thanks bro now i can use the command prompt for fun (yes i will watch the other tutorials) Its cool that the command prompt lets you experience ways of the old computers
love you bucky...... you are awesome... this series is looking much better that what you did few years back with command prompt... what would you suggest me? to watch that first then this or this series will do the job? ..........thanks a lot Bucky :)
thank you! Especially for explaining the basics like - why do we use the command line at all having beautiful Windows GUI. That has always been my point agains the tool. Very helpful for understanding.
Pro tip: If you're new like me and don't want to make a mistake that could potentially destroy your pc. Use Virtualbox and run windows 10, then if you make any mistakes you can just restart and is separate from your "host" pc. You can run any OS you want and all free.
woouu my first lenguaje its spanish and don't speak good english and i had see like 8 videos on spanish and they just confuse me and now i saw this one and its going to the point very good video easy to understand thank you
there is damn virus named exe not valid win32 that annoys me and I want to fix it with prompt command and when I wrote sfc scannow it said that I should a executor administrator for me to enter so do you know this and thanks for help
bucky: you can go to "desktop\video* with only one click rather than two click, that's pretty cool me: who the hell will type "desktop\video" then click once and not clicking twice
The fastest way to open cmd would be to create a keyboard shortcut for it. You can do that by opening cmd file location from start menu (not from windows key search) and then right clicking it to get into properties. Under shortcut, you can assign a keyboard shortcut, like ctrl+alt+t or something convenient for you.
Thanks a lot for this lesson on such a topic, please create videos on advanced commands and uses to command prompt where we can replace or alternatively use it in place of GUI. Also, make a tutorial playlist on MS Word and MS Powerpoint beginner to advanced level. You can also make tutorials on Java Programming and other languages too because I think there is the lack of abundancy in youtube in this field of videos. Pls reply if you could make, or if you have planning about it.
Nice serrie Bucky, I love to see where it is going. I think you would not lose any viewers if your using color 0A or 03, I think it is easyer to read. I hope you also get into the harder stuf, like browsing by the command prompt.
Something I learned while refreshing my memory on using command line, if you have a win10 or newer and you're having trouble navigating the interface, make sure you know whether your files are not in OneDrive. I tried to pull up something that's on my desktop, CL couldn't find it, I tried and tried until I opened a GUI file and looked at where it was kept, and it was in OneDrive, which threw off my search parameters. Once I transferred my desktop folder from OneDrive it was smooth sailing after!
