Hey there! Welcome to the Tutorial 4You channel! In this video, I'm gonna show you how to fix that annoying error message that pops up when you try to start the VGC service: "windows could not start VGC service on local computer error 1 incorrect function." Ugh, I know it's super frustrating, but don't worry, we can fix it together!
So, first things first, you need to open up your Control Panel and click on "Uninstall a program." Then, just look for Riot Vanguard, right-click on it, select "Uninstall," and hit "Yes" to remove it from your PC. Once that's done, your game will automatically reinstall Riot Vanguard, and you'll be good to go! You'll see it downloading, and once it's finished, you can try starting the VGC service again.
Now, VGC is pretty important for online gaming because it helps prevent cheating and hacking by detecting and blocking unauthorized software or modifications to the game. So, it needs to be up and running for everything to work smoothly.

If this did not work for you try this Uninstall Riot Vanguard: Open CMD (Command Prompt) as Administrator Type these commands in: bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING OFF bcdedit -set NOINTEGRITYCHECKS OFF Restart PC Run Vanguard as Administrator Update Services.msc Turn VGC to Automatic and Turn on Reboot Run Vanguard

When the game tells you to restart your computer after u deleted vangaurd just start the vgc close the client and then open the game again without restarting your computer... its the only thing that helped me!

make sure you have a tpm 2.0 installed, and the boot secure option of the windows is enabled, google it you need to enter the bios, is the new vanguar protocol bullshit, to prevent the users charge apps in the kernel

Not working for me I've had updated the graphic driver and after that I'm facing error 128, saw your other video and its not working. I even reinstalled the RIOT Client but still nothing changes.

I'm sorry to hear that. Please try reinstalling Vanguard, and if you have any antivirus software, try temporarily disabling it to see if that is not the issue.

I wish I could say it worked for me. But right after I restart, vgc isn't running even if i set it to automatic. And when I try to manually start it up, it shows the error again. But if i dont do that and just try to ignore it, id open valorant and itl say not initialized.

When I went to uninstall vanguard, my PC crashed - it blue screend and said "Windows ran into an error." Once it restarts, vanguard is still there, so it basically doesn't let me uninstall. Is there any chance you know what might cause this? Thanks!

Thank you bro, seems so obvious but i was at this for over 3 hours. Btw i got blue screen of death first time I tried uninstalling vanguard. Deleted some riot files on my hard drive and then it worked after.. Also VGC went away after I uninstalled vanguard?

The VGC service is the basis of Riot Vanguard, which should work properly in the background otherwise, you cannot play VALORANT.

Hey there, I'm sorry to hear that the solution I provided didn't work for you. When I faced a similar issue, uninstalling and reinstalling Riot Vanguard and restarting the computer worked for me. However, there are a few other solutions you can try as well on your own risk. One of them involves opening the Command Prompt as an administrator and running two different commands: "bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING OFF" and "bcdedit -set NOINTEGRITYCHECKS OFF" and restarting the computer again. The first command disables driver signature enforcement in Windows, which means that Windows will only load drivers that are signed by Microsoft or a trusted publisher. The second command re-enables driver integrity checks, which verify the digital signature of drivers before loading them to ensure that they haven't been tampered with. It's important to note that making changes to the BCD store can impact the security and stability of your Windows system, so be sure to only make changes if you have a specific reason to do so and are confident in what you're doing. If you want to enable driver signature enforcement again, simply use the same command and change "OFF" to "ON". Hopefully, one of these solutions will work for you!
