@@TheXev : It's not even remotely dead. It moves sllloooowly because it's not a simple thing to do. They've ALMOST got an Oculus CV1 or DK2 working fully, for example. That's not on the main tree, though- it's on a contributor's one. WMR headsets are just taking time.
I try to get the OpenHMD repo to work since months and partially have success. (register the headset and give out tracking information over the terminal but thats it). I cannot get SteamVR to recognize the Headset. If anything new in that corner happens I would be happy about a small comment :) - It would be awesome If I could reuse my Reverb G2 in Ubuntu 24.04 as well as currently not payable headset with linux support exists except the Index and that would be a step back :) - regarding the picture quality.
How did you get this to work? Ive tried making OpenHMD and i dont get the hmd rules in /etc/udev/rules.d/ as their github suggests. i used the -OPENHMD_DRIVER_WMR=ON option also. Is there something about the cmake process i dont understand or could it be something with the hidapi? im using debian 9.
"echo 'SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{idVendor}=="045e", MODE="0666", GROUP="plugdev"' >> /etc/udev/rules.d/83-hmd.rules && udevadm control --reload-rules" worked for me. Just make sure to use the command "sudo su" in the terminal before using it or else it'll deny access to it.
@@CattaRappa I tried it after I found this video and I managed to get it working just fine like you did in the video. Although it was still lacking positional tracking.
