Let me tell you the tragedy of Bob. Bob was a Windows XP user. His computer was certainly overkill for XP (1GB of RAM, Pentium 4), and saw that Vista released. He updated it, and it worked amazing Bob: “I love this new OS! It looks amazing, and DirectX10 will do wonders for my new GPU!” Bob was tired after waiting for Vista to install, so he turned it off and went to bed. The next day, Bob woke up to play Quake online, when his computer crashed while booting. This happened many times until he downgraded to XP, and didn’t touch Vista till 2 years later, when SP1 was out.

Hearing the looping audio of whatever you were doing before the bluescreen as it pops up when your a kid is terrifying, especially on the masterpiece that is Vista. A bluescreen in general is scary as a kid; hell it can still be scary if you aren't paying attention when it happens

Thank God for Windows 7. I had a Vista PC which drove me nuts with its constant crashing and BSoDing. Finally, that PC was deemed beyond repair, and so I got a PC with Windows 7, which, to this day, works pretty much OK.

that's a horrible error, win32k.sys is the kernel side boot and is started by smss.exe (Session Manager) - This is an error that cant just be said ONE OFF, if this was a bug in your case it was, then it would need emergency fixing (Files like ntoskrnl.exe etc...) The thing causing the crash MUST fix it asap

This got recommended to me. Back in 2008 I'm stunned seeing Vista... grew up with XP and 98 so it's a big jump.

First there's a bunch of bug checks with the code 0x8E, and then mismatched gadgets! On the Windows Vista RTM release, I believe opening Solitaire was guaranteed to cause a bug check by killing a critical process.

I bet this goes without saying but man, I’ve grown up loving computers and this video was one of them I watched over, and over, no real reason other than just loving to watch Vista blue screen. Sad to hear that it’s long gone, but man was this a heck of a video when I was a kid.

I used to use vista when it was still relevant, nothing but problems though. Around mid 2010 the dell computer I ran vista on completely broke with CPU failure, bought a MacBook Pro and still works 12 years later.
