Tested this version yesterday and works fine on a Rebuilt ChromeBook. I installed the free antivirus AVG, and turned on the Windows Firewall with no problems. The computer only has 16GB HDD and has 10GB free. Goes like a train. One thing you should keep in mind when you create a USB memory is to use older usb-2 memory sticks, they are better than the latest 32-256Gb ones. Likewise in chromeBook, the system does not start up after the first restart for some, wait 5 min and force restart the computer, then it starts up and works perfectly. Bitdefender Just loops and doesn't work in this version. Thanks for the quick release, will be a lot of coffee from me James.

Tried on a 32 bit Lenovo Stick 300-01IBY with 2GB ram and 32GB EMC. Goes incredibly fast. Pretty cool and would be interesting if you can make more 32bit versions of Windows 10. You're doing a great job James.

Hi! I installed Windows X-Lite 'Micro 10' SE [x86] as an experiment on an Atom N450 netbook with 2 GB of RAM and a SATA SSD. Alas, the miracle did not happen. Compared to regular Windows 7 Corporate, even installed on a HDD, there is almost no effect. I couldn't even watch a RU-vid video in any browser(((

@@WindowsX-Lite Thanks I don't see any non-installed drivers in the Device Manager. In general, there are no official drivers for my netbook, even for Windows 8. I manually installed only the touchpad driver from Windows 7. Unfortunately, it seems that no matter how you optimize it, Windows 10 is much more demanding on hardware than 7(((

This has to be one of my favourite builds of yours because it's extremely small i like barebones and has net 3.5 which can't be installed on the other micro builds as far as i understood. I never update my windows to keep every single setting as they are so the updateability can be gone;)

I have a very strange problem, which has never been the case with WinXLite packages on other machines but Dell Vostro 2521: as soon as the notebook wants to install Windows from USB drive, I get the "A media driver your computer needs is missing" error and the computer doesn't show the drives to format/install Windows to. I've tried various solutions, including updating the BIOS, changing USB ports and sticks, using Optimum Pro package instead of Micro, to no avail yet. The option to unpack Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers into a separate folder on the bootable USB drive and to install the driver using 'Load Driver' button during the Windows installation doesn't work for me either, as I don't even see that the button. Any help is kindly appreciated!

The issue is solved! It had nothing to do with Intel's RST technology or USB ports in my case. I just downloaded an official Windows 10 ISO image using Microsoft's Migration Tool for Windows 10 (make sure you're opening the Migration Tool webpage in Windows, not e.g. Linux. Otherwise, it shows the download links for Windows only, not the Migration Tool), then burned it to the same USB with Rufus and installed it. After official Windows installation completed, I deleted all the files from the USB, copied to it (no Rufus this time!) the contents of the Windows X-Lite's image for Micro, and re-installed Windows on my Vostro notebook.

Maybe im the only one with this issue, but installing a Language Pack bricks the SE edition of this install, Windows-Native applications window controls stops working. For detail I install the Korean Language pack and after restart and everything, the Window movement controls (dragging) and Minimize/Maximize/Close buttons on the top right corner of well just any application doesnt work or only some work. The only solution seems to be reinstalling the OS as deleting the language pack did nothing, and with DISM it's not removable either

If you have language pack issues with Ultralight Builds (Like Micro) I highly recommend giving our Optimum 10 or 11 builds a try instead. Better language support, and better support in general, as no features / services are removed. They're the builds I recommend for most people.

I think our Full featured releases, such as Optimum 10 v4.10, offer the same performance as our Ultralight. This is mentioned on our Ultralight page here: windowsxlite.com/ultralight/ The only way to know which performs better for your needs, is to try both and decide.

Sorry friend, you could make an ultralight Win 10 system that can be put in Spanish, the thing is that the micro 10 versions only change the start but the rest of the system remains in English even if you apply the tutorial you do to change the language, you could implement that function in one of your ultralight systems in micro 10, your work is greatly appreciated, by the way the micro 11 versions can be configured at 100 Spanish, only in the micro 10 does it have that problem with the language

Sounds like a driver issue. I recommend using either of our Optimum 10 builds if you are running to issues running Micro on your PC.

Gotcha. You wanna change icons. That takes a bit more work, you'd have to find an original W10 icon pack and a way to install it to replace the in place W11 icons.

If you have any issues using our Ultralight Builds, I recommend trying our full featured builds instead - like Optimum 10. They run just as light and fast as our Ultralight releases.

If some of the services that you require are missing, try Optimum 10 instead! no features or services are removed in Optimum 10 / 111 builds, and they run JUST as light, fast and responsive as our Ultralight releases.

Hi... I was experimenting on ultralight found out optional features dont work probably coz WinSxS was just 70 MB Do you know the files WinSxS used for optional featuresso I can put em back...

i need to install snmp support. when i go to Programs and Features, Turn Windows features on or off, it says that windows cannot find optionalfeatures.exe please advise..

It's already enabled. But I'd advise you to try Optimum 10 instead, Optional Features have not been removed if you need to add them.

Not possible. I have mentioned this on our website, and suggest moving to our full featured releases instead, like Optimum. For most users needs, I don't recommend Ultralight builds.

hello james and thank you a lot for your builds. i need just to know the main differences between those micro versions and the full ones. i have a micro 11 installed and i can't find any differences other than the used space. i need to know what is disabled and maybe i need on the futur. i mostly use my pc for educational purpose, photoshop, premiere pro, auditio et office, this is it.

Hello James , first of all Thank you for your hard work. I am currently using your "Vanadium" build and it is perfect for my laptop and i can honestly say it is using less ram than any other ultralight builds. My question is this : should i change my os or keep vanadium build? Maybe I can try but i want your advice actually. My laptop specifications are i5 6200u 8gb ram 500gb ssd sata3 and 920mx nvidia. If you have time can you give me an advice? Thank you

IMO Vanadium is the fastest lightest build of W10 I've produced. 19H2 is still, hands down my favorite version of Windows, as far as the perfect blend of performance, and modern software and hardware support are concerned.

The only CPU's I wouldn't recommend Vanadium for, are 12th intel and newer. But if using 11th gen or older, or any AMD chipset, including the latest, Vanadium is fantastico!

x64 = AMD64. They are the same, just different names for the same thing.
