@@rootcanal7188 Bootable usb only allows you to install Win X Lite , not run it off the usb as an OS. Ofc you need a license. If your OEM gives you Windows 10 home edition, then you can install Windows 24H2 X Lite Home Edition and it will get activated successfully.

Did something different with mine. Installed Optimum and messed with my Group Policy to be able to download the latest Beta on top without signing into MS and it's still incredibly fast. Great Job James!
You windows builds are so great, i gain more perfomance on my laptop on bluestacks Windows 11 Enterprise stock (Not Optimized): 32-60 fps Windows X Lite Optimum 10 Pro V2: 80-90 fps (Drops very low, only 47) Now i only use my laptop for work, i installed the optimum 10 pro v3

Been using Xlite for 2 weeks now without a single crash! Fast and furious. Tried Tiny11 for one year, it is quite good, but this one is even better. Switch it for good now. I think it should be my daily driver for at least one year like Tiny 11. I don't think I will try this latest one as the current one is so damn good.
I'm with TeamOS's WIndows XP Performance Edition since 2009 LOOL and so on with their 7 and 10, and now X-Lite 11, and trust me - this is most probably THE Top.
@@valentinmarquezflores5772 Just follow RU-vid instruction. It's that simple. Basically load .iso image and using Rufus to install the image into a flash drive. From then reboot the computer and changes the priority boot to USB to access the installed .img. After that just follow the on-screen instruction. Could finish it in 20 minutes.

Just finished installing your 24H2 developer edition without any problem. Running smooth and excellent. Now seeing that you're going to release version 2 ... looks like I need another reformat at the time it's been released
@@wilcovanhorssen8670 I tested all his full features release (win 11 only). Every reformat only took me less than 15 minutes to reinstall all drivers and software needed. That the best way for me to see which build fit me the most.

Another thing I am noticing as well. On restart or wake up from sleep the refresh rate of both monitors revert to 60hz and need their refresh rates re-applied in the advanced display settings. I will keep playing around with it to see what's causing it. Wasn't happening on Optimum v5.
This is excellent, my WiFi speed has gone up to 1gb/s from 800mb which I can't explain and fps in cs2 improved. Takes no time at all to install too ! Great work
When the installation process for all versions of Windows x lite is complete, it restarts immediately and the message "missing system operating" appears. How do I solve this problem please ♥️
Installed it and can't be more happier with it, the performance is fantastic overall. The only thing I didn't like is the fact that I can't change the "Windowsxlite" every time I boot, no matter how many times I change the lockscreen settings.

Great Build as always! Can you do more of the old Legacy Stuff like Disk Management in Dark Mode? Or when i open some Programs like Brave in Dark Mode, they flash white when opening them.

Hello WindowsXlite. I have a bit of a problem/concern. I tried to access Windows Advanced Startup by holding the shift key and then pressing restart. And yes, it did indeed take me to Windows Advanced Start. My goal was to disable driver signature. The option is F7. But when I press it, it automatically restarts and then gets stuck at the boot logo. It seems like a boot loop. I waited about 10 minutes, but it still stuck in the boot loop. Then I had to force shutdown my PC by pressing and holding the power button. I also tried this on a laptop. However, the laptop didn't boot loop; it just automatically shut down. So, I had to manually turn on my laptop by pressing the power button. When I checked, it didn't disable the driver signature. Why is that? Is there anything I can do? Because when I use Windows 11 23HH2 Optimum V5 and other ver, everything is fine. Why is that?
Even using official 24H2 release this problem exist. Disable driver signature cannot be disable. I guess you need to wait until they fix it or maybe they don't want it to be disable.

Hi James, not sure if this is entirely on the OS. But for whatever reason I cannot install the newest NVIDIA driver. I run DDU in safe mode then nvcleanstall in safe mode as well. Get a generic "NVIDIA Installer failed" error I am on the pro version and my specs are a ryzen 7 5800x and a 4070 Ti on the latest BiOS (also reset CMOS) and Chipset
Just installed the Home edition. First thing I did was try to update the GPU driver. The custom driver I made with nvcleanstall gives an error while installing the driver normally with the exe from nvidia installs just fine.
@@QuackyTV I haven't installed 24H2 on my PCs with Nvidia GPUs yet, only tested it on my AMD GPU systems, and it's working fantastic so far, so can't really give you any insight at the moment regarding your findings.
I'm using Nvidia GPU and I installed version 552.22 using Nvcleanstall but not in safe mode. I never did DDU so I can't help much with install latest driver in safe mode.

Just install the modern notepad app, restart and that right click menu will be added :) you can install modern notepad from the store or grab it from our website.

I really like all your Windows builds. I'm the type who frequently formats my laptop every two weeks because I want to test your builds. I really like them a lot. And I just started using the Windows 11 24H2 developer build version. It's really good.
@@jirehla-ab1671 So far, I've tried all the WinXlite versions, including the one shown in this video, and they all support MS Office, MS Store, Adobe, and Microsoft apps like Photos, Snipping Tool, WhatsApp, Telegram, and TikTok. I also play games on Steam, and everything runs smoothly. However, if your laptop or PC uses Vulkan instead of OpenGL, you'll need to set that up yourself.
@@YohanesDjayasaputra I've also tried Windows To Go (WTG). The performance is as smooth as if you installed it on internal storage, but there are significant factors you need to consider. Where you create your WTG matters. If it's on a standard USB 2.0 or 3.0 drive, I'd recommend installing it internally instead. However, if your external storage is an SSD, then it's excellent. For a 64GB storage, I find it too small. If you're planning to use WTG just for basic Microsoft Office tasks, it might be okay. But I still feel you are very limited with a standard USB drive and small storage like 64GB. At least aim for 128GB to give your laptop or PC some breathing room.
Personally I found ur windows 10 version faster and more stable. This one my screen went black few times(only happen once every 7-8 hours), on a rx 6600, ryzen setup. Its still in beta/development hope problems fixed in offical version.

When I boot up my pc at work without stuff in the autostart it uses over 5gb of ram . And the Instalation size is after all updates arount 50gb- I have a notebook here that is in the domain and it has one userprofile with 3.6 gb. the disk usage is 86gb... on that notebook is almost notheing installed, except of office, anydesk, vpn client, anti virus, and someother small programms that make up maybe 1gb. Thats from my experience
"Disable driver signature enforcement" option is not working. Each and everytime it displays "The third-party INF does not contain digital signature information".
You could try installing the Defender On build, and then manually go through the Windows Security Settings and try disabling the features you need to. I know they added some extra security features for 24H2, but doing this step may help solve your issue.

@@WindowsX-Lite Ok, so I installed Cobalt V2 and through the early stages of the set up my wireless keyboard & mouse worked. Once the setup had completed -neither of them did? so I was literally stuck! Ive had to return to vanilla 11 for now...

Hi X-Lite. Love the OS great job. I found an issue that you might want to look into. Even though this issue exists I am still using X-Lite Windows 11. On my Lenovo laptop with fingerprint reader. When I use the fingerprint reader as my main login, Sticky Notes and WhatsApp lose typing. Yes, those two apps that I noticed so far will not allow any sort of typing whatsoever when I have the fingerprint reader as my main login. When I turn it off those apps work fine again. Funny eh. Anyways I tested out the full complete Microsoft windows 11 the same way and it works fine. But I did not keep it. I rather type in a password and keep using X-Lite it's that much better. Thanks for the great work.

It says it right on our website, I don't recommend Ultralight builds for most users, yes they're smaller, but don't run any lighter or faster than our full featured builds IMO. But the choice is yours to give it a try and see if it will meet your needs :)
@@sachinmajotra9665 you can enable / disable transparency through the start menu - x-lite tools folder, and themes include a dark and light theme that use stock cursors, recycle bin icon etc.

I've tried multiple windows 11 builds of yours. One issue I always face with explorer.exe is the system error saying "The system detected an overrun of stack-based buffer in the application. Explorer.exe memory usage keeps increasing and it finally crashes with this error. Kindly tell me how to fix this issue. Really appreciate your work.
Too bad, too bad even in this Pro version I can't connect to the media computer via the home network. I've tried everything and it doesn't work. Strangely enough, the ping to the media computer works. If I use the Home version of 24H2 or Cobalt V2, it works. Anyway, I'll just sit it out and wait. Thank you FBConan for your work.😌
Yes, found the same here with 24H2 Pro v.2, no network connection to media computer. 23H2 Pro v.5 is working fine. Once bitten twice shy I installed it as dual boot on a separate drive so I did not lose my 23H2 😀
@@wayneandrews5410 I just read the 24H2 Home version back and it's fine. I even threw down the 24H2 version on the media computer and slapped on the Windows X-Lite Optimum 10 Classic today. Didn't do anything either. With the 24H2 Home on the main computer everything works again. I'm guessing that some service has been disabled or it's due to the Windows Firewall. But no matter, there will definitely be other versions coming.

Hi, it is my first time installing custom windows image so I'm totally newbie, after some research i find your version is the best for my uncle old rusty laptop and no wonder after i install it, it worked like charm and so snappy, i countered 2 issues so far first it start to overheat and fix that by turning power save mode on and the second is when i try to install MS story faced this error "Class Not Registered" i tried some online solutions but nothing worked, do you have any quick fix? or do i reinstall the image again, and THANK YOU this will surprise my uncle of how fast his rusty machine will be :D
You can adjust advanced power settings, changing the min processor state for both AC and battery, should fix overheating issues you may be having. Store installs fine for me, so it could be additional privacy settings you have made or changed that are blocking it, out of the box it works okay though :)

So far so good. I just installed X-Lite without a single problem, and my dual-core Celeron laptop came back to life. It's snappy and resource usage seems to be extremely lightweight compared to original Windows. I've faced one issue tho, if I log in to my Microsoft account in profile settings, it doesn't want to fully complete the process and once I log out after this, I cannot get back to desktop as log in doesn't work. I'm using 23H2 version. Any ideas how to solve this? Or simply use the system with offline account?
Every time you do release an update, would I need to install it doing a fresh install or would it be upgrade-able without the need of doing a fresh install?

Hi dear James, the only difficulty I'm encountering is not being able to reverse the scrolling of the touchpad because Elan settings are missing from the Microsoft driver settings. The notebook is a Lenovo 15V-IGL. Everything else works perfectly, now my PC is lightning!!! Thanks in advance 🙏
You can likely find the drivers for your touchpad on the lenovo website, they should host them for your specific model. If you can't find them there, you could try the two apps at the bottom of our drivers page! - Good luck!

Everything works great and I don't want to install Driver Booster because it sometimes finds drivers that are incompatible with Microsoft. I also tried to install the Microsoft Store to install Etd Proprietis but it doesn't recognize it because the Elan driver is missing. Don't worry, it's fine as it is. What about the main concern with the new windows version, with the spyware called Recall that windows added. Is that completely removed from your version of it, or how does that work?
Microsoft says Recall will only be available on PCs with Copilot+, which signifies they have sufficiently powerful AI processing to handle the feature. Currently, only the Qualcomm X Elite chips can hit the necessary 45 TOPS of AI performance necessary for Copilot+
