Arrr, matey! Me be a fearsome pirate, sailin' the seven seas in search o' booty and adventure. The sound o' me ship be like a symphony o' cannons and waves crashin' 'pon the shore. Me heart be filled with the wild melody o' the ocean, me plunder be like golden notes playin' in me ears. Avast! Join me crew, ye scurvy landlubbers, and let us make beautiful, incoherent music together!
i love how natural the transitions are between each song, not even in this album, but pretty much every album w96 has dropped, its really something special that i dont hear too often
I'm really in love with The Fool, its so different from everything else and makes me think of old adventure games with that old general midi standard soundfont at the core of the song, it is soooo good!
Oh yeah, it's all the olde style adventure games. It's the differentest song on the album, but really sums it up doesn't it? Like, it's got that uncertain, regretful vibe cranked way up, but it was sneaking up on us in all the prior tracks.
There were certain sound cards that had FM synth sounds for MIDI and you could only bend notes as far as a whole tone. I think that's what you're referring to. Modern MIDI "standard soundfont" is just the Roland Sound Canvas, but at least you can bend notes a whole octave. Look up some SC-55 demos. If I'm wrong about what you're talking about, you're in for a pleasant surprise.
But seriously, I recently discovered vaporware music, and let me tell you, it's like waiting for that pizza delivery that never shows up. You're left feeling disappointed, hungry, and questioning all of your life choices. It's the musical equivalent of being stood up on a blind date!
My first thoughts were about how amazing the album cover looks, you did an absolutely phenomenal job. And yeah, the music definitely follows. Some of the songs have a really unique style and they're really well made
Avast, ye scallywags! Me be a pirate, sailin' through the misty depths of a musical fog. Me ship be carryin' a mystical cargo of tunes unseen, floatin' on the breezes like ethereal whispers. The melody be like a ghostly specter, hauntin' me senses with its elusiveness. Aye, me heart yearns for that intangible vaporware music, driftin' in and out o' me grasp like a slippery eel. Raise the anchor, me mateys, and let us embark on a journey to capture the enigmatic essence of this incoherent melody!
Beautiful sunny day here, like the first day of spring. I bought a great used bicycle this morning, rode it along the beach all the way home. Then I get home and find this surprise dropped. What a day. Win96 for life.
the 15:32 part of "Fase" is something magical, scenes from my life that haven't happened yet come to mind, with that part being the background sound, like a soundtrack.
Positive Affirmations: - Remind yourself daily of your unique talent and creativity. - Repeat affirmations such as "I am a skilled and successful vaporwave musician" to boost self-confidence and belief in your abilities.
Windows if u read this I just wanna let u know how lowkey beautiful ur shit is like it has actually has me thinking bout life and shit and it's just all beautiful
I've seen a lot of comments praising the twin songs Continuing and Crystalline, but to me it's Fase → Reason Why where it's at. You wouldn't notice there's a transition if you played Fase on its own, but it's seamless with Reason Why, which btw I can't stop whistling that amazing melody with the two synths
I agree so much. Its as if starting from Many Years there is this slow 3 song long build up that culminates in Reason Why and it feels like this well paid of burst off energy. Whenever the bassline in Reason Why kicks in, some part of my body has to move.
A new album for 2022. Nice! Love your music, Gav! Edit: This album, so far, in terms of its soothing sounds and structure, seems to be the album that finally dethrones Enchanted Instrumentals and Whispers for me. Edenic Green Plus was a strong beginning that eased me into the mood. Ascending Red gave me nostalgic vibes about EIW and the memories connected to that album and Many Years seems to be the "travel song" from this album; the song that enhances a bus or car ride from point A to point B and fills you with uplifting, soothing feelings. I love this stuff! This is probably the current peak of what vaporwave as a music genre is capable of.
Wow, I'm glad I'm not alone! Enchanted Instrumentals was my entry point to W96 and I was much enchanted by it, then I went to listen to One Hundred Mornings and found it wasn't as appealing. But then this dropped and now I feel the same way about it as I did when I first listened to EIAW
And what's with these artists, anyway? They're like the Houdinis of the music industry. One minute, they're hyping up their next album, teasing us with sneak peeks and snippets, and the next minute, poof! They vanish into thin air, leaving us all scratching our heads.
There’s something very special about Windows96's vibe that I completely understand. The name of this project, "Empty Hiding World", mixed with the very instruments and chords used in the songs mesh together in an immaculate way.
continuing + crystalline are both insane, that transition from one to another is also something else. windows 96 u are amazing my friend, keep up the superb work.
@@InkfinityOkamix3 It's a very unique vaporwave style then. And thus actually it is new. I personally can't satisfy my thirst for Windows96 just by listening to vaporwave... his music is one of a kind.
@@stefan1draganov I mean if you like Windows 96 and have a thirst for their music then you're a fan of _their_ music - just don't go saying theyre inventing a new genre when they really aren't
Bro stop doubting yourself, and just run. Don’t set boundaries, BREAK THEM. I’m just saying I hope you take runs without listening to music as well, because uhh shit I just realized I don’t run
But you know, the concept of vaporware music isn't that different from my dating life. It's all about unfulfilled promises and false hope. I've had more ghosting experiences than a haunted house. One minute, we're planning a romantic evening, and the next minute, they vanish from the face of the earth. I'm left wondering if they were a figment of my imagination or if I accidentally entered the Twilight Zone.
15:32 - 15:52 I need to find more songs with this groove. This is definitely my favorite album, it's full of passion. Cover art shows the mood of a whole half hour in shifting rhythm. Makes you want to dance on beach at dawn with not a care in the world because it's just you vibing with nothing to hide and enjoying the moment.
Windows 96 you never disappoint. I am here every time you drop another one. I've been here since plume valley and it's one of my favorites ever. Never stop man.
Gav i dunno if you read these comments, but if you do i wanna thank you for comforting me during breakdows and being such a comfort artist in a way to me, your music helps me calm down and i havent found an artist like you, never will.
To release an album and establish a successful career as a vaporwave musician. Challenges: 1. Lack of self-confidence in musical abilities. 2. Limited knowledge about the music industry and how to navigate it. 3. Struggling with finding inspiration and maintaining creative momentum. 4. Difficulty in promoting music and gaining a fanbase.
I’m always so happy when u drop new stuff. Enchanted Instrumentals and Glass Prism were part of my soundtrack of the summer of 2020 and I seriously can never get enough of them
Just great. This sounds so diverse and the unique Windows96 style just keeps on developing. Everything you put out is incredible, thank you Gabriel! Edit: The Fool is unlike anything I've heard before. So many layers clashing but at the same time harmonizing with each other beautifully.
Me toooo dude. The Fool is so complex and full of doubt and regret and stuff... I love it. As a self-tormenting insecure person, it's like my theme song now. Did you notice the emoji at the top-middle of the album cover?
But you know what they say, "Once bitten, twice shy." So, I've decided to embrace the vaporware culture in my dating life. From now on, when someone ghosts me, I'll just pretend they're working on their masterpiece album. Hey, if they can do it, why can't I?
20 mins ago YESSSSS , I was just thinking yesterday that you released Red Twilight last year at this time, i really wanted a new album, sounds so relaxing already. Thank you Windows96 I love your music
I just started listening to magic peaks a few days ago when I saw it on the channel. Bit silly since I've been listening to w96 for a while. Nice to have this just come out to further satisfy this lovely music
When they saw the beauty of the lake they had no idea what the depth the lake had sprung before them as it was too good to be true; the true lure of the true darkness that lies beyond.
Love how the songs transition to the other. My favorite has to be "continuing" into "crystalline". Seamless. Reminds me how much I like Visions I and II in One Hundred Mornings.
