Hey folks. It’s David here, the drummer from WINDRUNNER. I’d like to just address you all as best I can and hopefully move on. Yes, style has changed. We knew there would be a strong reaction to the new vocal styles. We were presented with a challenge of suddenly losing Duong, and knowing we could never replicate her, as artists chose to move on as best we could to keep creating what we love. We would like to thank you all for your support through this challenging time, from myself and WINDRUNNER. At this stage, the negativity towards the change is what it is. We appreciate all your feedback on the new style but at the end of the day, we will continue moving in a way that pleases us creatively. We can only hope you understand and still enjoy our music. We have plans to keep writing and creating music with an album coming up soon which will naturally have our heaviness, as this is just a single song with room to move onwards. Thank you for reading this, and all your support.

Instrumentally the music is still good and what I came to love, the atmosphere and overall feeling it gives you is still there. This new singer is going to be an adjustment though I admit. She has a great voice, the girl can sing for sure, but Duong was a large part of what I fell in love with within Windrunner. Duong didn't quite have the range that this girl seems to have, but it fit so well with the music they made. I understand the situation with her leaving though and am happy to see the band move forward as best they can. Interested to see where you guys go with this sound and style. I wish you guys(and girls) lots of good fortune.

I have been following WINDRUNNER since their very early days, in fact, I think I was at their first gig in Hanoi. I love the evolution that happens with these lads and lasses. You're not going to please everyone, so mission on with your creative vision.

It's different, but I like it. The new singer has an incredible voice. I'd love to hear the melodic pop-style vocals mixed with some screaming (even if it's a guest vocalist, idc) because it would sound really good. Regardless, I look forward to what else you guys have to offer going forward!

Her voice is fire tho. Dont know where you found her, but shes good. We dont know yet if she can scream. Imagine if she can. I still wanna hear more. There is infinite promise here. I listened a couple months ago then now. It gets better with time.

Great Song! Instrumentals are killer as always! New Vocalists is doing a great job too, I actually did not expect her to scream anyways so I don't really care about that change too much xD Her voice just needs a little bit more power (maybe because of the mix?) cause her singing got a bit drowned by the Instruments I my opinion But all in all once again, great song! Looking forward to the rest of the new stuff :3

Style-wise, is still Windrunner. Only difference is change in vocal style. Which like everyone else is hard to adjust to when you get used to the original singer. I will admit, I already had my mind made up in thinking that Windrunner wouldn't be the same. But they surprised me. The new singer had me already into the new song. I've been listening to it nonstop and still have not found anything negative to say about it. The clean melodic vocals are awesome. The band is as tight as ever and the sound is awesome.

I still miss Duong Bui on vocal but I like this new style, no scream no problem for me, the new vocalist is also great tho. Two replacements doesn't mean that Windrunner will be a totally different band as before. Awesome track, love from Vietnam

Hellyeah! Never heard the old stuff, I'm sure it's good. But this, IMO is like listening to Lacuna Coil minus the dude. No diss to LC, but i always preferred Christina Scabbia in LC. Andrea is ok, as I'm a fan... but this is what I was looking for. Good shit.

I mean, I know Duong was known for her screams, but they were... kinda muted and lacking in definition. She had an incredible clean voice, though.

Hello! First of all, love your icon. Second, I haven't been a fan of this band for very long, but I'd like to throw in my take on this. I feel like Duong's screams, while often a bit stifled by the heavy guitar riffs, sounds almost primal to me. While it might sound a little unrefined, I feel like that coarseness really added to the impact and emotion of her vocals. They sounded unique in the way they felt much more distraught and frantic compared to other screamers that I've heard before. Not trying to invalidate your opinion though. I totally see where you're coming from, but I thought I'd give another point of view on the topic :> cheers!

When i first found out about Windrunner they sounded raw, new and slightly "unprofessional" (in a good way). I wasn't quite sure if they'd be talented and would go the way i wished they'd go but they nailed it with the most recent album. Duong's vocals were nowhere near what a professional vocalist does but that defined the band for me, the melodies, the screams, it was just extremely emotional while still very heavy and raw. Now i understand that filling her place isn't easy but this song...it just feels like a path that has been taken by many other fresh newcomers. The safe and forgettable path. Pretty sad that Duong's gone, wish you guys the best but i guess you've lost me as a fan as well. Unless the next album manages to prove me wrong.

Depends on which record you're talking about. If you're talking about "Sen" (the reimagined record), then they're wasn't that much of a change. It's the same direction stylistically but with a new vocalist and bassist. If you were hoping for the more heavier Windrunner, then you probably aren't going to get what you want. Doesn't mean that they've taken a safer route or aren't as good. At least the door isn't closed on the old vocalist returning (they seem to have gone out on good terms), but appreciate them for what they are now.

Dear, Windrunner. It's hard to speak, but i am really dissapointed in this new style. Your album MAI was for me is much bigger than a simply music. It helps me understand myself, living and moving forward, through all struggles. But this is definitely not what i wanna to hear from Windrunner. Duong was my favorite vocalist but the new vocalist is ok-ish. The track was rather good though! It has changed definitely but my hopes are high for WR! All the best!
