The morning of the 11th of January 2020 brought in a spell of quite blustery conditions across the UK. Strong winds had been forecasted so I decided I'd join in and grab some of the action! The winds in London weren't as bad as up north. winds at London City were gusting up to 25 knots blowing from the southwest at 220 degrees.
I arrived at the airport around half 7 in the morning, just before daylight came, and stayed for about 2 and a half hours. The winds definitely made for some challenging crosswind landings and take offs with some good old crabbing, kudos to the pilots for landing in these conditions! Unfortunately there were no aborted landings throughout the duration of my visit
