Alot of people trash on wing chun unnecessarily. I see it as a very underrated and beautiful martial art. However, I must admit that in any real life practical fight scenario, Wing chun is not nearly as useful or safe enough to know by itself. Its a good addition to having experience with power punches, kicks, and a bit of ground game. Muay thai , Boxing, and BJJ are seen as the best trio. In any slef defense scenario Wing Chun unfortunately falls very short. However, as I said it can be a beautiful martial art.

Anderson Silva successfully implemented it in UFC. It has useful techniques. Learning multiple styles of fighting will always be superior but Wing Chun has a solid foundation.

@@kingalaric4431 He did some wing-chun-y stuff, when he was already one of the most proficient fighters ever due to existing skills. Which says something interesting about Silva but nothing much about Wing chun.

@@TheSpoovy Wing Chun is better for street fighting situations. Eye gouge techniques, groin shots, etc, so yeah. But even then it has its limits. It's definitely a no brainer that modern martial arts are superior due to years of refinement. It's just that Wing Chun happened to be one of the most practical Chinese martial arts which was very evident from how it blew just about every other Chinese Martial art away. It contains techniques faster than boxing, which is helpful in street situations. You won't have boxing gloves to protect your head in a street fight, so conventional boxing blocks will be for the most part useless

@@Falcon2609 Look up MMA vs China's Wing Chun masters. They get embarrassed. People have known this for a long time. Even Bruce Lee said a boxer could beat someone who has trained Kung Fu for 15 years after training only 1 year. Look it up.

Look up MMA vs Wing Chun master. The MMA guy isn't even good and he destroys the Wing Chun master. It is about practical application and real fighting experience.

Si lo aplicas bien, tienes la pelea ganada, no se tiene que aplicar así de una al oponente, primero un golpe o 2 (lo suficiente)en la cara, y si está medio afectado por los golpes (mareado o adolorido) aplicar la técnica. Es simple.
