Fantastic tips, very much appreciated, this will get more valuable time on the water and help prevent some of the faff that comes with foiling. cheers

Thanks for the tips. Rain pants and jacket. Best tip ever. And I've been changing my wetsuit in very cold conditions for years, to save the car seats.

Some very nice tips there. Thanks so much for sharing! I would like to share a few tips of mine: I store my nuts and bolts in a small PET bottle, so I can easily find them and I have the bottles screw-top anchored to the bottle with a piece of rope, to not lose it on the beach. I also keep a laminated check list with my gear, because I forgot my mast at home once.

Thanks Harry! The PET bottle for holding screws is a great idea, does it have little holes to let the screws dry out in case they're wet after your session? Oh boy, I'm with you for the check list too: there is a lot less gear to bring for winging compared to windsurf foiling, but somehow I still managed to forget my wings once... lol It looks like people like you find this video useful, feel free to share it with your local group of wind addicts ;)

Buying a 50 Euro electric screwdriver saved me so much time for foil assembly

Be careful that you don't cross thr threads. Screwing too fast can also cause plenty of heat which can trash aluminium threads

Nice. I have one tip as well I attach my leashes to the wing via a short pigtail with a ball stopper the larks head the leash to it. When you finish a session disconnect and let it dry separately from your wing.
@AlanAllegret
@AlanAllegret Год назад
Oh yeah that is a really good point Dan! Leashes covered in fabric (as opposed to plastic like coiled leashes) do keep moisture in the wing bag. In fact I have the exact same issue with my board leash/harness, and my current solution is to let it run out of the board bag and attach it to the same carabiner (quickdraw, rather) shown in the video. The advantage I guess is that it stays attached to the board, so no chance to forget it at home. Can you share (link or picture) what kind of pigtail you're using?

Nice tips! Where do you wingfoil?

Thank you! I live in Seattle, so Lake Washington is usually where I go. Much better wind can be found in the Columbia Gorge (Hood River, etc.) in the summer, so people here go there but that's a drive :)

Great tips, except my wing would always get wet!!
@AlanAllegret

Haha! Well same here, especially when the conditions are a bit gnarly 😄 This tip only applies on light wind days I suppose
