My favorite technique for anxiety free precise winged eyeliner that should work for every eye shape!
✦ Product Links ✦
The non waterproof pencil in this video was made by a lab for me as I’m trying to create the best liner for this technique. The closest I’ve found is what I’ve linked from the brand Jane Iredale. You simply need a non waterproof pencil that doesn’t tug the skin. Also, any preferred liquid liner will work. I find that layering too much of the liquid causes the eye to crinkle so get the shape with the pencil and set with one coat of liquid. As for the waterproof tight liner, Milani is the best I’ve ever found. I have the old packaging which used to be a sharpenable pencil. They put it into a plastic container, same formula. The blackest black that stays put with almost zero transfer. Hope this info helps lift your lids like it does mine! 😃

I’m really happy I did it but eventually I will have to accept the laws of gravity 😂 it takes away the extra skin showing more lid but doesn’t technically lift the eye. Maybe only a facelift would do that I’m not sure

The problem about plastic surgery is not the fact that someone decided to have it done, but when they lie about it and make others feel bad about themselves that they can not keep up with the competition. Honesty is the way. and you genuinely showed us how to do it. Thank you very much for that! You are a real icon! your example everyone should follow.
@chickenisindeedmystyle7316

I believe they should be honest, but how you feel about yourself is nobody else’s responsibility. There’s people who’ll look good naturally regardless, are they supposed to just turn ugly for the rest of us?
@ayumiakimoto7552
@ayumiakimoto7552 7 месяцев назад
@@chickenisindeedmystyle7316problem occurs when someone try to convince others about that their "beauty" or youngness comes from natural source when it is due to plastic surgery. because this is called lying and LYING is a problem in all cases. no one was talking about looks, this was about honesty and transparency especially when someone is with a great influence about such things.

A person choosing to have surgery is noone else's business. All aren't comfy sharing. Their lying about it has nothing to do with you. If it makes you feel bad that they lie...it's reality, hun, people lie. And they have the right to lie. It's their bodies. I don't want to sound like I'm being mean. I understand what you're saying. Of course it's irritating hearing Kylie say she never had her lips done. We all knew she did even as she continued to lie. The beauty standards of today are so insanely unattainable that we should all know it's ALL a lie. Instagram, Tik Tok, music vids, magazine covers...filters, makeup, AI...we need to learn to be satisfied with what we got.

Even by age 45 I had very minimal sag, and still pretty nice lids. So I began thinking to myself, “Wow, maybe saggy lids won’t be as much of a problem for me as I thought they’d be…. Oh, how blissfully ignorant I was. I am now 51 and in the past six years, my saggy eyelids have gone from “minimal” to MAXIMAL, in a major way! And it felt like it happened overnight! It’s like I woke up one morning to my lids screaming, “I can’t take it anymore!” and then watched them lay down on my face and die of exhaustion!🤦🏼‍♀️ The worst part is, I can’t figure out how to do my eye make up in a flattering way anymore. I used to think I did my make up pretty well, now I’m thinking it was only because my face was a younger better canvas, making it easier to do.🤷🏼‍♀️☹️ I love your content, all the history, stories, everything. After seeing this tutorial, I love you even more! Keep up your beautiful work!💗😁 P.S. My profile picture was taken about six years ago. It was soon after that, my saggy-eyelid-armageddon started. GIRL! OMG! THAAAAANK YOUUUUUUUUUUU! I've admired your liner since the first time I saw a short with you. I've always had saggy lids. I've always LOVED winged liner, even in the early 90s. (Man did I get made fun of when I entered grade 8 with winged liner! Did it anyway.) This is the first tut that has covered our beautiful shape of eyes. I love you so much! I'm going to try this RIGHT NOW! Also, teach me your ways, gimme all the tuts you're amazing.

Ha! They called me the makeup master of disaster in 8th grade, and I could have cared less too! I got a set of rainbow colored mascaras and dammit…I was going to use a different color every day! Lol…kids are cruel. Glad to find another person who stood their ground too, and did what you liked! ❤

I started using pencil before liquid a couple of years ago, and omg what a difference it makes. At 54 my eyes are texured and my lids are drooping at the corners so the liquid liner tends to break apart now. Using the pencil underneath really holds it in place all day, and i literally mean all day. I work 10 hour days in customer service, and my liner looks just applied when i get home. Ive been doing winged liner since i was 16 on and off. But for about 20 years it's been my go to with every eye look. Thank you for this tip, I can totally confirm that it absolutely works. You are so beautiful and amazing. Thank you for sharing your knowledge beyond just the finished makeup looks. ❤

This is such a great tutorial. I've always had "too much" skin on my eye lids. My cousin would complain about my wrinkly eye lids when we were teenagers doing each other's makeup and I always struggle with eye liner to this day. I'm not looking forward to more drooping.

I'm so happy to have found this video! Last month I watched a video that recommended that hooded eyes not wear liquid eyeliner, which bummed me out, thinking my eye shape was no longer viable for liquid. The mapping technique with the pencil before the liquid is genius. I just tried it, and the liner on my left looks really good - the eyeliner on my right eye looks unhinged. This is defiantly a technique that will take some practice but now I can see on myself that it works! It's a gorgeous shade of blonde color that you have. ✨

i love your work erin! do you happen to have any tips for sagging hooded/monolids? makeup stresses me out so much since one liner always has to be thicker on one side and it looks dumb. plus my lashes on one side are always pushed down too. (bc of my uneven eyes)

I’m 3/4 Asian and 1/4 white and I’ve had slightly heavy lids from birth lol..they aren’t quite monolids but also aren’t deep and this look has helped me finally be able to both see my cat eye and also help with droopy lids that have recently dropped further (I’m 42) instead of looking straight ahead I tilt my chin up and look “down” my nose at the mirror and create that straight angle to form a cat eye..it makes it a little more smooth but keeps the drama lol

I am DEFINITELY going to try your tips! I have big eyes with large eyelid space, and for the last 15 years--I'm 62 now--I've really struggled to do cat-eye looks and winged liner, thanks to the sogginess of my eyelids. I've all but given up and resorted to deep gray or taupe powder all over the lid with a bit underneath at the outer third of the lower lid. But it's a rather dull, smoky look as opposed to the fabulous vintage look you're doing, which is much more special-looking for evening. Thank you EVER so much, Erin.

Glad to hear so many of you have eyeliner anxiety. I love just wearing black eyeliner. It looks so beautiful on it's own. I don’t wear a lot of eyeshadow because of my oily lids. When I think about putting it on.... there's a lot of hesitation. Then I end up not doing it. Thanks for the amazing tip.

Thanks for the lessons, Erin! I also use this technique on clients, and like you said, it does take away the anxiety. I always regret being lazy and going in with liquid liner on myself. Even when I’m in a hurry, this is still faster and safer because I’m not always having the easiest and best liner day.

My mother amazed me on her eyeliner technique, she would put the tip of her liner on the water line then she'd close her eyes and she's go back and forth many times lining both top and bottom on the inside line and she had gorgeous lashes so her eyes just looked amazing!! This is SO helpful! Since dealing with chronic illness and weight gain due to those health issues, my eyelids have become even more hooded than when I was younger. People used to comment on my "exotic" eyes (their words not mine) but now I just look extra tired and saggy around my eyelids. It really does take a toll on my confidence some days. Since plastic surgery isn't an option for me, (thank you for your transparency on that issue by the way!) I'm really excited to try the pencil first and then liquid liner technique. On some days, my hands can be really shaky, and I just stay away from doing anything with a liquid eyeliner...let alone a dramatic wing. I think this technique will really help with that. You're such a gem!😊
