Hey! I just noticed something in the MIDI menu that might help you guys. Under MIDI change SYNC Start to OFF and that might solve your issue with the ALLSTART button turning on both loopers. Great singing by the way!
I am really in love with both your voices and the way you caress your instruments! I wish I could someday do the same with my guitar. Thanks for sharing another wonderful piece!
Yay! Thank you so much Mr C! So glad you enjoyed this and this comment is high praise from someone with your ability. Thanks for watching and have a good weekend!
I find myself coming back to this song frequently. Your arrangement of this, with these harmonies, are just unbelievably beautiful. This is a beautiful arrangement of memories that will never fade, for the rest of our lives. You two have defined what a blessing to others really is 👍🏻
Aw thanks so much Randy. Often when we find ourselves running out of ideas for what to put on an album, we go back to stuff we've been performing live for years and have almost started to take for granted. The same is true of this song, and as usual, it turned out to be one of our best and proudest moments :) Thanks so much for the kind words :)
Hey Soph and Mat, my favs!!! 🙌🙌🙌 OMG....this acoustic cover is abolutely 🔝🔝🔝 and beautifully made, my friends!!! 😍😍😍 A huge BRAVO grande MAESTROS!!! 👏👏👏 Have a great weekend, mates!!! ☮💖🎵
Hey there Claus! Aw man, thank you so much, you're too kind!! So happy you enjoyed this. Thank you very much for your support and have yourself an excellent weekend too!
Ah thank you so much M, that's so kind of you. We really appreciate you taking the time to leave comments - it helps a lot more than some folks realise.
Wow. Maybe the best version I ever heard. That was simply wonderful my friends!! Fantastic work. Your sound moves me. Greetings and my biggest like from Hamburg, Jimmy
I was not familiar with this song, but what a beautiful song. As usual vocals are clear, and so smooth, harmonies are beautiful, and playing is excellent. Wonderful performance!
Hey there Alan, thank you very much that's so kind of you :) Very happy you enjoyed this, and hopefully RU-vid will throw up the occasional video into your feed :) Thanks for watching and happy planting!!
Sophie your voice is soooo amazing on this!! I'm envisioning a speechless jaw dropped crowd!!!! Matt , I'm not much on gear but I would love to know what kind of pickup you added to your acoustic. Most do not seem to capture the "real" acoustic sound the way yours does. I always figured id mic mine but that's not so great for a live performance in a loud place.
Hey FB, ah thank you so much man, that's so kind of you. - It's mat here... there are two pickups actually: one is a piezo under the saddle (LR Baggs 'Element' I think it's called), and the more obvious one is the LR Baggs M1 in the sound hole. To be honest though, those direct signals are really low in the mix, and it's the hidden condenser mics out of shot that are conveying most of the woody tone - we're absolutely not above cheating 🤣
@@TheDistanceDuo thanks Matt! I've heard about those piezo being great. I see the mic is still the way I should lean for recording. That's going to go for the electric too. The great sound from an amp comes out of the speaker combined with the head. I figured if I bypass the speaker by going directly into the interface I'll not capture the sound it's capable of making. Thanks again 👍👍
@@folkenbluzer Yeah if there's an option to use a mic on an acoustic I'd always choose that over the DI - although doing both simultaneously can offer up some interesting mixing options: sometimes I'll leave the mic signal completely dry with all it's woody, twangy goodness, and run the DI signal - which sounds pretty awful, but is much more balanced - through a 100% wet reverb. Panning them apart a little can give a really nice atmosphere without making the guitar sound distant. Funnily enough, I've never tried mic-ing an amplifier to capture an electric part. In fact I've never owned an amplifier, but I imagine that's really the best way to capture the energy and feel of air being pushed around. From what I understand though, speaker sims have come a long way in recent years, so I'm happy to stick with that. A five-foot man carrying a three foot amplifier does not make for a happy spine... 😅
I'm with both of you on the simplicity of this, which just makes it even more beautiful. As far as the bumble bee, you're on your own and hopefully it died of old age by now 😂. I don't know how or why I overlooked this song, but I did. That was my mistake as it was just beautiful. Sophie's voice is somewhere in the 3rd Heaven and the harmonies with you, Mat, were just killer. Is there any more that can be said?
@@TheDistanceDuo Things are better than I deserve. My travel schedule has picked up quite a bit. I’ll be at the Gibson Bozeman plant next week and looking forward to getting a few things cleared up with them 👍🏻. While I’m there, I hope to try one of the 50’s J-45s. Other than that, all is well and no complaints. Donna and I were out tonight and on the drive back to the house I had Wings playing on the truck stereo. She had never heard it. I told her that my friends, Mat & Sophie sang that 😁. Hope all is well with both of you.
