I've literally grown up with McCartney's music. I can't remember a time when it wasn't a part of my life. This has always been one of my favorites, although I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because I tend to like his rocker songs best of all. That ending where he reprises the power chords before letting the sax lull us to a soft landing is utterly genius. Love the shot of him at the end, too. So adorable, you just want to hug him!
ДЖЕТ Джет, Джет, Джет, я почти помню все их смешные лица - Ты им сказала, что замуж ты выйти должна. И, Джет, уединённых мало мест - только Луна. Melbourne Australia Nov 13, or 14th 1975(Wings_Over_the_World_tour on Wiki) .. @ :31 those people in front are in their 60's and 70's..if you know any of them tell them they are in a video! I had to look up what a suffergette was and I still don't understand the lyrics at all, but the music!! I LOVE IT!!
You have to start with the idea that "Jet" is at least of legal age. She's told people she's getting married--I'm guessing to the narrator. Dad claims to support women being able to make their own choices (Dad's a lady suffragette = purportedly feminist-friendly), and yet is telling her she's not old enough to marry. It's sort of hypocritical to claim that you support women having enough agency to vote when they are of age to do so, while telling your adult daughter she can't get married. Dad's a hypocrite, and her fiance is urging her to ignore dear old Dad and run off to marry him (climb on the back and we'll go for a ride in the sky). He's telling his fiancee that dad has said he's a "suffragette," so hold him to it and make him live up to those words.
