Another slightly important thing they cut from the 5th graphic novel was Flower/Rose's drawing of Sunny. This happened when Sunny was chained by Smoulder, and Flower came to cheer her up, drawing a picture of her face. This event lead to Sunny beginning to theorise that scavengers were smarter that they seemed. I remember being disappointed at this being cut out. Edit: Wow, thanks for all the likes! "Darkness of Dragons" is going to get a LOT of trimming, I guarantee. I hope they don't bork up the conversation between Qibli and Darkstalker at the very least.
So as someone who has never read the graphic novels and didn't know any of these were cut, it's sad that a lot of these were cut...minus one. I actually really like the idea that Coral held back on talking about the school. The way she acted in talons of power felt out of place because we didn't get any indications that she had changed but that small detail of holding back her tongue to not upset her daughters goes a long way in showing she has been changing for the better since letting go of the harnesses.
I’m *almost* certain they cut some chemistry between Glory and Deathbringer in the third and seventh novel aswell. Side note: The biggest change to me was cutting off Hvitur’s death. Such a shame.
I hope they don't remove the part where Peril asks if Soar is sore 💀 LOL I also was super sad about the music class scene in moon rising! I loved picturing that scene! It was my favorite!
1. I really want that Soar scene. 2. I read the 6th novel AFTER I read the graphic novel, but when I listened to the music scene I was SO SAD because I would have loved to read that! Also I feel like the 6th book wasn't as descriptive as it should have been. Without reading the graphic novel first, I would have no clue what Jade Mountain would look like!
ok the rest I can live with, but the music cave scene is one of the reasons I got the graphic novel I literally thought I really want to see qibli playing the drums in the music scene
The scene that involved Tsunami convincing Glory to pretend to run away to see how the other dragonets will react in the Dragonet Prophecy was also cut out. I’ve always wondered why certain scenes like that aren’t included in the graphic novels 🧐
In The Dark Secret Graphic Novel when Starflight has to convince the SkyWings at the remote outpost, he brings up the part in The Dragonet Prophecy where he fought Scavengers in Scarlets arena.....a scene that was CUT from The Dragonet Prophecy Graphic Novel!🤨
I think another thing they cut out was Starflight killing scavengers in Book One. He did make the comment about it in Book Four, yet we didn't see it in the graphic novels.

I loved this scene from the first book Blaze:really scavengers to kill the dragonets of destiny Ex-queen scarlet:it only took one to kill your mother But it was cut and that makes me soooo sad
It's a shame that a small scene between Tsunami and Riptide was cut. The moment where Riptide teaches her how to say I will protect you so she could say it to someone else, only for her to say it back at Riptide. That one scene added so much to their chemistry. Also, I would like to hear the opposite of this video: scenes that you're glad were cut. I personally feel glad they cut the scene of Glory faking her leaving the group to test if Clay really cared about her. That chapter might be my least favorite scene in the whole series.
not a removed scene but an altered one, in the graphic novel version of The Brightest Night, when Sunny is following the 3 nightwings, she writes a threat on a rock or something nearby them. in the book, they wake up and briefly question if Sunny did it before quickly brushing the idea off and wonder about Darkstalker. in the graphic novel it's changed so that they don't even question if Sunny did it, with Sunny getting annoyed and thinking to herself that they didn't even consider her
You forgot one In book five ( my personal favorite) theres a part were there debating who should contact blaze and everyone agrees on sunny but in the original book tsunami gets mad that everyone was insulted her negotiation skills and is look ing for a insult to call them but sunny offers one ( frog faced blobs of camel spit) and tsunami laughs so hard she almost falls out of a tree witch is why she agrees to let sunny do it but in the graphic novel she just says "Im offended" and just agrees
As someone who read the graphic novel of book 1 and not the chapter book, I was pretty disappointed when my friend told me about a bunch of scenes of book 1, I get that it was to make the book shorter but it's still sad 😭
i don't know if it was mentioned since i haven't seen the video yet, but i was really confused when the graphic novel didn't include the stuff on clay's scales in the first book. like the owie owie stuff that was melting it or smth i barely remember it
I realized this when I first read the 1st graphic novel, but the battle in Queen Scarlets arena where Tsunami and Starflight scavengers isn’t in the graphic novels. Speaking of changes on Queen Scarlets hatching day during the arena battles the novels says that Starflight, and Clay get taken to the balcony, but in the graphic novel they were on the arena sand (meaning they were chained on the arena floor). I still like wings of fire and I feel that the graphic novels when Tui changes the prologues and the epilogues it feel like I’m getting a new pov of something.
I’m still reading the moon rising graphic novel, but somewhere nefarious the middle when kinkajou turns a bright pink and basically blinds Qibli, turtle, and umber. In the graphic novel, turtle doesn’t say anything. Meanwhile in the book, umber says, “ I mean, it’s a very exiting color that I can’t say I’ve ever seen before, but it’s a little-“ “bright,” suggested turtle. “noticeable?” Tried umber. “eyeball-scorching,” offered Qibli. In the graphic novel, what umber initially said was shortened into a simpler sentence. Here how it went in the graphic novel… turtle says nothing, and instead of saying ‘noticeable’ in the graphic novel, umber said turtles line in the book- ‘bright’. Qibli says the same thing, soooooo yeah… That’s all
I was not very smart when I first picked up wof, so I skipped the prologue, I didn't notice this part was mission from the first graphic novel, I'll have to go reread it when I get the chance
Dude they cut out may favorite scene in the Hudden Kingdom where starflight was teasing Clay with the watermelon when he was sleeping. I was so sad lol
I mostly just hate the burn scar on Kestrel's talons not being mentioned at all, but a random scar on her face we were never told about was somehow more important and was mentioned instead........ Also going back to Kestrel, the violence idea makes no sense as we see Kestrel get killed "on screen" in a violent way at the end of book 1
One scene that I noticed was left out in the graphic novels was in Winter turning (Book 7 I believe), it was the scene where the jade winglet hid in this tiny crevice after escaping the nursery. (Or hatchery, idk the proper terms) I felt like that scene really added some more tension and allowed us to see Winter’s true feelings towards Moon.
One somewhat disappointing cut was during the DOD's escape from Scarlet's palace when Peril just burns a guard alive while Clay just pins the other. That scene inspired an entire character in one of my fanfics, (I gave a name and major part to the guard that clay pinned).
Ya, in all the books in arc 1 got rid of scavenger violence in the sky kingdom, like Queen Scarlet eating Mushroom and how they made starflight and tsumani fight scavengers. However, in the 4th book, the dark secret, Starflight mentions this in the graphic novel to the Burn supporters, which makes absolutely no sense.
They missed the part in book three where starflight was playing with clay with a piece of fruit and clay woke up and said he had a dream and he smelled fruit😂
wait im pretty sure they removed the scene where in scarlets arena, starflight and clay had to fight some scavengers. in like book four starflight thought about the feeling on the scavengers on him or something. when I read those books I was rlly sad that they removed that bc it does get at least briefly mentioned in a later book, maybe as a form of trauma for starflight but idk maybe like the scarlet eating mushroom thing it coulda seemed too violent for the target audience of the graphic novels-
When I started reading Wings of Fire, I didn't read the Novel of The Dragonet Prophecy. I have only ever read the Graphic Novel. But then I read the rest of the novels, and after I read Dragonslayer, I was so confused about what Skywing ate Mushroom. Also in the Dragonet Prophecy Graphic Novel, they don't include the scene where they put out scavengers into the arena, with the dragons. I'm still a bit upset about that.
ARGHR! I read the graphic novels from my school library first and then started reading the normal books! BUT THE LIBRARY DIDN'T HAVE BOOK 1! So I had NO idea what was going on in the first book because I had only read the graphic novel for book one!And I STILL don't know and/or remember what happened in the first book! Lol, also I pronounce Anemone's name like "An-uh-moan" Not "An-em-ony"

There were a lot of things left out, especially in the first book. The whole prologue, Glory and Clay’s mini argument, Tsunami and Starflight fighting scavengers, and throughout the books a lot of changed/cut dialogue. It makes me wonder what could be cut in the next book since I know there’s a lot of violence in book eight.
I fr wanted the scene of tsunami and starflight going against the scavengers in the arena lolll. It's just annoying cause later in nivel four, starflight literally mentions it to the skywing soldiers when he and the fake dragonets go on a "mission" to convince them to support Blister. Just a pet peeve

If I remember correctly, At the end of book one Kestrel gets her throat cut and stabbed in the chest by Blister but in the Graphic novel she just only gets stabbed
Honestly i was rlly upset as well when they COMPLETELY skipped the whole prologue in the first graphic novel, i was rlly looking forward to seeing that come to life on the page and the change was rlly boring. As well as changing the prologue in the 2nd GN completely, that was a total let-down imo :/
Let’s not forget the biggest inconsistency in all of the Graphic Novels, the one between books 1 and 4. In the 4th one when Starflight is captured by the SkyWings, he says “remember, she had me fight scavengers?” Which would make no sense to someone who only read the graphic novels, considering that he doesn’t fight scavengers in the 1st one. It also leaves a gap in where the escaping scavenger on the tower came from.
Yeah, what I don’t think people realize is that the graphic novels aren’t actually a good replacement for the regular books, in fact I don’t think they were ever meant to be to begin with. The graphic novels are better for existing fans, who already know the plot.
I've read till only book 5 but I think I'm lucky that I've read real novel rather than graphic novel because it seems that so many scenes have been cut in graphic novel and also detailed explanation in graphic novel is not given
I don't mind the prolouge of the dragonet prophecy changing because it still works but I hate the lost heir graphic novel's prolouge becayse nothing really happens
Sinceramente, conhecendo a Amazon e suas certas animações, fico meio dividido se wings of fire terá uma classificação indicativa leve como 10 e 12 ou pode ser mais pesada, por conta da violência existente no livro
